The Tide is in the unique position of potentially landing all five of the top five rated prospects in the nation for the 2013 class. The Tide picked up an early commitment from the nation's No. 2 overall prospect, LaGrange, Ga., linebacker Reuben Foster, in July of 2011 and is currently considered a strong contender for the other four players in 247Sports' top players: defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, cornerback Vernon Hargreaves III, offensive lineman Laremy Tunsil and quarterback Max Browne.
BamaOnline.com Recruiting Editor Tim Watts said that while it's extremely unusual for one school to be in position to secure commitments from all five of the nation's top five players, a number of conditions appear to be playing in the Tide's favor in the 2013 class.
"I think landing the top five players in any class would an incredible feat," said Watts. "Obviously it would be hard for Alabama or any school to do that. One thing that does help is the top five guys in 2012 are all different positions so you don't have to actually recruit against yourself."
