Gymnastics Regionals In Progress

I was wondering that myself.  I think it is the top 2 from each regional, but I'm not sure how many regionals there are.  I think there are 6 regionals, which would put 12 in the finals.  Let me go check.  I want to see how Bama's score compares to the other winners.  I don't think 197.XXX will bring home the trophy, but they will probably post a better score next time.

A 197.400 or so would usually win the whole deal.

There are 6 regionals that place the top 2 teams in the Finals for a total of 12 teams. After the first day 6 teams are eliminated leaving what is call the Super Six.

Anything 197.00 and above is very good. It is hard to match scores from different regionals since scoring is subjective and different judges posting the scores.

The Alabama gymnastics team will be the No. 4 seed when it attempts to repeat as the national champion for the first time.

No. 1 Florida, No. 5 Georgia and No. 8 Arkansas will make four teams from the Southeastern Conference in the 5 p.m. CDT session at the same arena where the SEC Championships were staged last month. Alabama finished second behind Florida in that competition. No. 9 Oregon State and No. 12 Ohio State will complete the six-team field.

The afternoon session, which starts at 11 a.m. CDT, will feature No. 2 UCLA, No. 3 Oklahoma, No. 6 Nebraska, No. 7 Utah, No. 10 Stanford and No. 11 LSU.

The top three teams from each semifinal session will advance to the NCAA Super Six finals, which will start at 3 p.m. CDT in the Arena at Gwinnett Place.
