2011 season: Started all 13 games, extending his starting streak to 26 consecutive contests. Recorded 39 tackles and two interceptions.

2012 spring practice: Lone returning starter in a secondary looking to replace three regulars from a season ago. Intercepted A.J. McCarron on first play from scrimmage in A-Day game. Also recorded three solo tackles and a pass breakup. Joined Barrett Jones as Sylvester Croom Commitment to Excellence Award recipient.

What he brings to the table: Another experienced player in the middle of the UA defense, Lester has a strong understanding of what awaits the Crimson Tide in Fayetteville and Baton Rouge. While he'll be counted on to lead the secondary, newcomers like Vinnie Sunseri and HaHa Clinton-Dix shouldn't require much guidance. That should free up Lester to make plays himself.
