I heard on the radio today that gun sales in Aurora, CO are up 40% after the tragic shooting. The reporter said some of the sales were people wanting guns for protection. He went on to say that gun laws in Colorado after the Columbine School restricted sales of guns and people are trying to buy now before the laws are restricted again.

Legal guns are not the issue here. No one in that theatre had a gun because it was a gun restricted zone just like Columbine HS and VA Tech. Murderers don't pay attention to the laws. Bottom line: Restrictions on guns will not help.

Pmull I totally agree with you. If the Amendment on guns is followed and people are allowed to buy for protection then the bad guys will think twice at least. RTR!

I do not like assault weapons. I would not have a problem with them being made illegal. However, I strongly believe it is every law abiding citizen right to own a gun(s) for protection and for hunting.

(As a side note I do not own a gun and do not hunt.)

O'Reilly agreed with gun control liberals by wanting the government to make a list of all assault weapon owners. The idea was, more closely, that if you bought a fully auto weapon you would have the go on a list so the government could access you if things were to go bad where you live. Also there was mention of the registering or listing of gun owners purchasing over a certain amount of ammo,--maybe 10 cases (IDK).

This sounded innocent enough to O'Reilly since he has to come up with some way of saving the country every night and because he is not very bright.  Liberals don't go around making lists for no reason.
