Not as famous as the Enola Gay, but up there. Glennis was his wife. Yeager Airport (CRW) at just under 1000' above sea level was a mountaintop removal project. It has alway been a pretty imposing place to take off and land. It shares to top of the mountain with the WV Air National Guard. A dope plane hit the mountainside during landing in the early 70's. They called it "Happy Valley" for all the bales of weed scattered in the trees in the forest/ park below.

Yep. Certain groups (you know who), scream bloody murder over mountaintop removal for coal mining and then reclaimation, unless they are getting a new shopping mall or in this case, an airport.
