Me and the boys tried a trick a year or so ago. Out of hamburger buns? Use two grilled cheese sandwiches to hold your burger and fixin's. Works great.

Sounds pretty good....but I don't see any mention of Bacon  Undecided
Drain the bacon drippings from the skillet to then make your grilled cheese sandwiches. Now you have a bacon burger on a bacon flavored grilled cheese bun.

Finally bought the woman a new car to replace the Avelanche. I spent more time researching and negotiating than ever before. I bought a 2013 Ford Edge Limited. It had all the luxury, comfort, and performance of the Volvo, BMW, Mercedes, etc. SUVs minus $12-15k. Leather, Hi-Def TV, remote and keyless start, custom paint and trim.  But I never spoke with anyone else that owned one. So even though it is too late-- do any of you have any anecdotal evidence that I made a poor, or maybe even a wise decision?

I don't know anything about that model, but you can't go wrong with a Ford IMO.

I bought my wife an Edge a couple of years ago. Very nice large crossover. Ours is not the limited but it is real nice with the important extras like leather seats. In the last few years I have become a Ford man. I bought my oldest daughter a Fusion while she was away at college. I drive a Ford truck. I went to Ford because I thought you got the best value for the price. I still believe that.

I've been a Chevy guy my entire adult life. The stimulus $$$ changed my mind--then my neighbor bought a new Ford truck that I gawk at every time I pass his house. Maybe we have had this "Ford vs. Chevy"" discussion before, but my next truck will be Ford. So you have had good luck with your "Edge"?

I like the Edge a lot. I like the way it looks and drives. It is comfortable on trips. I think the woman will be happy with it.

I share much of the same thoughts about Ford.  I've never owned one, but I'm much more open to it now than I used to be (after growing up a GM fan).  I've got a Nissan in a similar class to the Edge, and sometimes I wish I'd bought an Edge instead.  A friend that I ride with frequently has a Fusion and it's a nice car.  Very good value.

Earlier this morning I went out to further check out the Edge. The 'auto' hatchback door is just nice. The storage/cargo area is larger than I thought from seeing only pictures. While our kids are mostly "up  and gone", the cabin seems to have plenty of space for 4 (or even 5) to ride comfortably. The remote start and seat warmers, window and mirror de-icers, and AWD seem to have winter driving under control.  The GPS, sound system, fuel mileage combine with a quiet cabin for comfort on trips. Almost everything I bought came standard with the Limited except paint color (white platinum tri-coat), wheels, and tow pkg. The rearview camera has already saved the life of a neighbor's chicken.

What's the story behind that picture, Leroy?  Or is it a fake?
