COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- On the second day of Texas A&M's official Southeastern Conference membership, new athletic director Eric Hyman stood in front of the McFerrin Athletic Center before hundreds of Aggies and offered them a brief lesson about getting along with their new conference mates.

"When you're through competing against an SEC team and an SEC school is playing in an NCAA basketball playoff, women's, men's, or a football game, what do we say?" Hyman asked the crowd. "'S-E-C! S-E-C!'"

Poor choice of words for the title of this article, but at least it would appear that they know how to spell their new conference.

I think most Aggie fans are very happy and proud to be in the best sports conference in America. We have the best football, baseball, golf, along with outstanding programs in women's BB, softball, & gymnastics.

I've always been one to resist anything to defy tradition. I wasn't happy when Arky and USCe were added to the conference and I thought a league championship game was going to be a mistake. All that worked out and I'll admit, it really helped build the SEC dominance that it is today. But here again, we're messing with tradition. Can A&M prove worthy and can Mizzouri "Show me"? We'll see.

wish I knew where 2 , they had to put two SEC teams in the NCG to
make sure a SEC team finally lost it ...
then think of ways to hold us back , like adding two last picks at a
sand lot game .
I'm afraid football as we knew it is slipping away
one thing is , we got to witness it at it's finest before the
money mongers got full control .
we'll see how this plays out but the product we had was pretty good
so good in fact that it's hard to believe an improvement is coming ...

IDK, X, that was a mighty lame "Roll Tide" by blondie there. 

OT, you're right. That is another issue to me, Geography. I know, MD, Texas is in the south. THE SOUTHWEST, NOT THE SOUTHEAST. Mizzouri? Please! All these conference expansions now have very little to do with placing teams in conferences for a geographical fit. As most have mentioned, it is now almost totally about the almighty dollar. Don't get me wrong, I like making a buck as much as anyone, but college football has gone from the ridiculous to the sublime. It's almost unrecognizable from what it once was.

As everyone knows it is all about money. One day somewhere down the road they will realize there is no more money to be gained and look back and think "What the he** have we done to the college game".
