Pat Haden is a tough, intelligent, no BS kind of guy. He will have Kiffin on the shortest leash in America, probably with a choke collar for yanking.
Say you are the AD at USCw. Your team is facing (at that time) serious NCAA penalties, and you go and hire who? You cannot put that loose cannon on a leash. He is what he is, and even his own father cannot reason with him.
I think you could be right, since Kiffin thinks he's smarter and a better coach than Rockne, Bear Bryant, Parsegian, Fank Leahy, and John McKay. However, Haden is a lot tougher than daddy and I think he is just looking for a reason to cut Kiffin loose.
