We were at TGI Fridays eating lunch. I only saw the last hole, but it would appear the pot bunkers got the best of Scott.

Yep. I am in the "Golf Channel" fantasy golf league. I increased my season-long lead over my opponent by $5M. I also beat all 16 of the Golf Channel experts and finished 80th nationally out of about 20,000. My picks were Tiger, Ernie, Padraig and Garth Mulroy. I didn't expect Ernie to win, but he has been playing well and I felt he would have a good tourney.

Good for you.  Send me some e-money.
Ernie was among those at the best betting odds.  I think he was about 20:1 or so.

Here, found it:
 TIGER WOODS 8/1
RORY McILROY 10/1
LEE WESTWOOD 12/1
LUKE DONALD 15/1
PHIL MICKELSON 25/1
JUSTIN ROSE 25/1
SERGIO GARCIA 30/1

RICKIE FOWLER 30/1
JASON DUFNER 40/1
GRAEME McDOWELL 30/1

Good stuff. After he failed to qualify for the Masters this year, this will rid of that pain for him.

Exactly what I told my buddy when we were hanging drywall today.  He deserved to be at the Master's instead of that crowd of Koreans, etc.

Bud bogies #18 to finish at -19. Looks like he'll finish 4th. Stallings at -24 and in the fairway on 18. He'll win. Bohn looks good for 2nd.

I'll have to let you all know guys ...
I never played golf , actually never really liked it much
tried to learn one day but when I hit the ball it would never go
over five or six feet high off the grass for 100 to 150 yards .

just could never get the ball to arch in the air at all
so I never tried again , didn't figure my "line drives" would be welcomed
might even hurt someone at those heights I hit it at ...

but a year or so ago with the Masters in game thread and the threads
that have followed you guys have me interested in the game
my LF even mentioned it "why are watching golf , you never have before"
"you have a bet on this or what Huh?"

anyway I wanted to thank you all for opening my eyes to the sport
to get up at 3am to watch golf is something I never in a million years
thought I would do , this week I did ... I guess ya'll got me hooked

FORE !!!!!  when I yell it means ...HIT THE DIRT ! INCOMING !!!!!!
UNLESS YOU WANT ONE IN YOUR EAR HOLE !!!

that crap ain't as easy as one thinks ... if I could use a Louisville Slugger
I could  get plenty of arch , would a rule change be out of the question ?

Kevin Costner used garden tools in "Tin Cup", so I don't think a Louisville Slugger would out of the question.  Laughing

Hey, glad I could do my part. I have been addicted to watching golf since Arnie was a Cub Scout and addicted to playing since I was 32 yrs old. It's the only sport that the outcome can't be dictated by officiating. Maybe we can go golf for fish soon.  Cheesy

For those that did not see the final few holes of The British Open.

A Scott birdied 14 to take a 4 shot lead with 4 to play. On 15 he lipped out a very short par putt for a 3 putt bogie. He rolled into a green side bunker on 16. He had a poor stance and hit a decent sand shot to about 10 feet. He burnt the edge of the cup with his par putt for another bogie. On 17 he missed the green and the ball rolled into a terrible lie just beside the green. The grass was about a foot deep and thick. He did good just to hit the green with his 3rd shot and two putted for bogie. The Els roar came about this time when Ernie birdied 18. AS went to the 18th tee tied for the lead. His 3 wood off the tee found a pot bunker. He had to chip out side ways. He hit a good third shot to about 8 ft. He hit a good putt that he thought was going in but it burnt the edge of the hole for his 4 bogie in 4 holes.

I felt bad for A Scott. He played great for 68 holes but I was glad to see Ernie get the win.

Jason Bohn got a $325,000 check for his 2nd place finish in the True South Classic and Bud Cauly got $144,000 for his 4 th place finish. Bud is having a good year. He is easily in the top 100 with over $900,000 in winnings so far this year.
