Good article (weak title).

Alabama football scrimmages are rites of preseason passages, and they're nothing new to Nico Johnson and Michael Williams.

They both played for national championship teams in 2009 and 2011. And yet the two veterans couldn't believe what they saw Saturday in the Crimson Tide's first preseason scrimmage.

"The first scrimmage, I've never seen intensity like that," said Johnson, a senior inside linebacker.

Like what?

"Everybody was game mode," Johnson said....

A freshman impressed junior inside linebacker C.J. Mosley most.

"I go with Amari Cooper and most of the wide receivers," Mosley said. "They made big plays when they could and blocking-wise, too. They've got to block as well as they can catch. They opened up some runs for the offense, too."
