Several sources have said that more than one school is involved.  One is MSU.  The other?  Aubs.

... The NCAA's examination of Robinson's transcript is only part of a wider-ranging investigation into Memphis-area football, one which multiple NCAA interviewees have said is connected to Mississippi State. The Bulldogs have acknowledged the school is working with the NCAA to resolve a "potential recruiting irregularity," have disassociated a booster found to be in "impermissible contact with the prospective student-athlete," and saw receivers coach Angelo Mirando resign just days before the season over reported connections to the investigation.

Put all that together, and you get one whopper of a mess for everyone involved. But it's a mess that doesn't seem to be getting any smaller -- or any closer to a resolution -- anytime soon.

I think a lot of these media outlets really want to get Auburn. They know Auburn got away with murder in the Cam story and lied like heck on the sociology course investigation a few years back. They know Auburn is dirty and want a pound of flesh.

Byron De’Vinner, a summertime 7-on-7 football coach in Nashville, told the radio show he witnessed a money handshake between MSU defensive back Will Redmond and a booster. De’Vinner later confirmed to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger that the “handshake” included “about $200.”

There's that name again: Byron De’Vinner.  His tentacles are wrapped around a lot of SEC players, including several at Alabama.

This can't be good. 

I've never read that he is dirty.  But his name is smeared all over this investigation.  Plus, he was on the Alabama sidelines during one of our games this year.  Yikes.  Hope he's not a problem for us!

A now-disassociated Mississippi State booster allegedly made cash payments to Bulldog  freshman defensive back Will Redmond, who signed with the Bulldogs in February, according to his seven-on-seven coach in a story published by Yahoo! Sports today.

Yahoo!Sports quotes seven-on-seven coach Byron De'Vinner saying he witnessed the payments and other extra benefits.

The 1,929-word story, one of a small number of national stories that were thought to focus on Memphis recruiting, is mostly devoted to the recruitment of Redmond. ...

Nothing new about Aubs in this one.

"He (Herring) told me he provided the benefits," De'Vinner said. "He told me he helped get Denico there. Robert Denton Herring loves State. And he was going to do whatever he could to help State."

Said De'Vinner: "He also told me if Brandon Hill, who did not qualify at Alabama, committed to State, he could get him eligible because of a Mississippi State booster that was a counselor in his school. It comes back to pimping kids. And I wouldn't do it."

Just an FYI, I was misquoted by the CA years ago while in law enforcement. Not that I hold a grudge, mind you, but let's consider other sources as they report.
