Impressive if True! ( I have no reason to doubt, but I have not been to both teams rosters to do any research on the validity of this).

There was some guest on Finebaum yesterday saying our OL was NFL ready. He said it may be one of the best college offensive lines of all time. He was not only impressed with how physical they are but how well they communicate and play together as a unit.

And there was a coach in Tuscaloosa who was chewing nails too because of those comparisons.

This is insane for all of these NFL comparisons after 1 game. I do agree with Saban that it makes his job harder. Some of these 5 star kids coming out of HS already have an ego the size of Texas and he has to get them to play team ball instead of ME ball. Fortunately Barrett is the anchor of that line and has a good head on his shoulders. I am sure he will be able to keep the line focused on what is important. He was there for both championships and the 2010 let up. He knows what it takes to win and how easy it is to lose depending to the attitude and work ethic of the team.

BINGO!! Plus, most NFL O-lines are big, so that means nothing. I bet the O-line of USC, Nebraska, Georgia, and other teams are big, too.

They said the same thing on College Football Live yesterday.  Trevor Matich said that he would not be able to start if he were at Alabama.  They also had a segment where they discussed which teams were ranked too high or low.  He said Alabama was ranked too low, even though they were ranked #1.  He said they were so far ahead of the other top teams that #1 was not an accurate ranking.

This team has a chance to be very special.  But a lot of it will come down to whether they keep their nose to the grindstone or relax and bask in all of the media glory.  They are being set up for a let down.  Hopefully CNS can keep it drilled into their head that they haven't done anything yet, and it is not finished until the crystal football resides at the Bryant Museum.

I agree. The biggest thing is everyone has Alabama in their sights for an upset. All it takes is for a team to be super prepared and play the game of their life (USC in 2010) and at the same time, the Tide does not play their best. We face many hurdles and challenges this season and our pass D is shaky right now.

It does make you worry about them "basking in the media glory" as SC so eloquently put it, when CNS, for the first time, said he was unhappy about a practice. He was referring to Wednesday's practice and also mentioned that this type thing happened after the Clemson and VT games. I remember how bad we looked after the Clemson game against Tulane. We won 20-6, I think it was, but Tulane took it to us and they were a terrible team. Keep your wits about you, boys. There's a long way to go.

I've have noticed a difference in players attitude in interviews. But what was telling to me was when CNS has commented positively on their off-season prep and general attitude. They have bought in and have the physical talents to convey that attitude to the field. This team wants to carve a special place for themselves in crimson ivory.

It's a mass-media conspiracy to give our players the big head so we'll lose to WKU.  Tongue
