I remember reading that there is a clause in his contract assuring him to be the highest paid coach in FBS. So when CNS got his extension and raise, so did MB.

UTa is pouring good money after bad. They can afford to fire him but it still has to hurt. Plus, every day they wait makes it all the longer until things turn around. Maybe keep him on until this recruiting class is in the bank.

CMB isn't a coach so much as an administrator.  His assistants do the coaching, and recruiting is easy in the big State of Texas.  The same thing happened to FSU in the latter Bowden days.  If a coach isn't coaching, what is he being paid for?

He does appear to be nothing more than a figurehead. That just doesn't work in college football. He's got to be hands on to have control of the program.
