Well, I can't speak to anything that was done in the past.  But I can assure you that everyone will be treated with respect here.  I don't think you will get that deal at many other sites, especially as a fan of a rival school.

Well jody, I don't know you at all, but let me give you a little friendly word of advice:  If you are only going to participate in sites who only have members you like, I'm afraid you will be the one who is alone.  Just my opinion.

If you change your mind I'm sure we'll still be here.  You are welcome to stop by any time.

Oh don't get me wrong.  There are many I don't like.... And there are many that don't like me.  That's cool.  I just think Smithhh General is a sorry *** excuse for a human and you chose your staff too quickly.  Just my opinion.  Nothing against you.

I am not going to participate in any attacking, but I will say the comment in 2006 about his daughter dating a black dude was joke, however inappropriate, he knows that and it was long forgotten. He is upset because his thread got merged or moved or something, I dont remember, and then he went on a rant like this and got suspended at TS for public attacks on the moderators.

Here's a vote for the general. You are confusing him with the coonass and pirate, but he's born again into a helpful and friendly fellow. I always enjoy his posts.

Maybe we can turn this around ...

You know it's really funny from my point of view, the macro view of all the peeps.  A lot of people see the coonass as the "hey day" of tidesports.  Everyone loved the pirate.  But then that all got retired and I took on a different role.  At that time I was blamed for ruining halftime by "over moderating" it.  Which was basically just not allowing people to bash me.   

Then TS grew back with a new group of folks and Tidal Surge (an awesome moderator IMO) had the pacle running nice and while it may have seemed slower than 2006-2007, the numbers were comparable.  Then it disappears and you should see the PM's I got.  Everything from blaming me for it going down by moderating and by not being coonass and having my fireside chats, some downright hateful stuff much worse than you see here.  But I also got a lot of very kind ones, including SUPERCOACH's request for me to come help him here.

All that said, as part of my recovery, Jody, please let me know what I can do to make it right with you.

Yes it is the first.  I have no idea what happened with him over at TS, but you would think it is well past time to let that go.  Especially if it was a joke that just went bad.  I had to apologize for one of those myself a couple of days ago when I laughed about the illegal immigrants being put on the board at Auburn.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Well general, I think you do an honest and marvelous job. If jody could remember the part about forgiveness they might be better. I would say as a member here we would welcome them anytime and to have a very good discussion at anytime. I will say all those ******** is just a coverup for vulgar words so why use them everybody knows what it means. Just describe without vulgarity what you want to say. I applaud SCs choices and work. RTR!

He didn't use the *****.  He used profanity.  I went back and changed it over to *****.

I didn't know jody that well from the old place.  But this post seemed so out of character from the jody that I do remember.  Maybe he was just having a bad day.

I actually like this site better than TS and we know at one time that was the greatest site. I think your members will grow continually. Thanks Ricky.  Jody is a South Carolina fan.  He had to suffer through a lot of attacks from people because he rooted for USCe, but I don't ever remember him posting anything like that on TS.  Of course I missed a lot of the stuff that went on over there.

If he decides to come back maybe he will keep his language clean.  He was really upset last night, but that is no excuse for foul language and personal attacks.

The Jody I remember from TS always seemed like a nice guy, and I was excited to see him sign up here the other day.

If he comes back to participate in a productive way that's great.  But if he doesn't he is only hurting himself in my opinion.  I'm sure the general isn't going to lose any sleep over it.

Geez, Jody - with all respect...chill out just a bit.

I remember all those days and events that you seem to be unwilling to forgive and forget. 

As has been alluded to here by the general himself, he was going through a difficult period in that era.  I won't make excuses on his behalf, and I know da#@ well he isn't using that as one.

I have the highest respect for you, but I'm really shocked at the bitterness you still harbor from all those years back.  No, I'm in no way invalidating your hurt and pain by the comments about your daughter.  But people... or any person...can and will make unwitting comments that can be perceived as hurtful.  Even if it's coming across as a joke, it's sometimes not taken that way (being a husband we know Martians and Venutians don't get each other at all!).

I maintain that the membership level here is very high, likely because of ssmith.  And also remember - he was under a mandate from others at TS when he was a mod, so on many occasions, his hands were tied, and what he did was more often than not at the behest of the administrators.

Lastly - ssmith pulverized me into the ground so many times I still have trouble walking.  But that was then...and this was now.  Plus, I know he was having issues then, and I not only don't hold that against him, but I have given him both private and public praise for the courage to persevere and overcome a very dibilitating addiction.

You're a good man.  Remember what's really important in this world and not let little things drag you down.  I learned that not too long ago, so it's not something I'm offering lightly.
