All fans get cheated when an athlete of that caliber is sidelined with an injury. Hate it for the young man, and the USCe fans.

This will be his second serious injury in two years. They use him too much plus he appears to be injury-prone. Not a good mix.

That just stinks for this young man. By all accounts, he seems to be an upstanding kid, and a heck'uva player. All I know is that I saw that knee bending in a way that no knee should ever bend, and my first thought was "Oh man, there goes his career." Sad

I heard it looked pretty gruesome but I have managed to avoid seeing it so far.  I had flipped the channel to another game when it happened so I missed it live.  Every time one of these networks starts the replay I change the channel.  It makes me sick how all of these networks play it over and over again.  I've seen gruesome injuries before, and when you are watching live you are going to see something like that every now and then.  But there is no need to show it dozens of times through out the day just for the shock value.  Angry  So I decided I am going to boycot the replays.

The injury was so gruesome looking, that at halftime they showed it just one time and the studio announcer said he appreciated the producer only showing it one time because he could not look at it anymore. I was watching the game and it was ugly.

Prayers up for him the he can recover.  Pray

I finally saw it.  They sneaked it in at halftime and caught me off guard.  I will just say there is no doubt that his leg is broken and leave it at that.

I have my doubts that he will ever play again, but hopefully there will be a bright future ahead for him as he moves on after football.

I have never seen anything more gruesome or poignantly sad than Prothro's.

if his femur is broken it's over for him

I broke my right femur , a week in traction
30 days in the hospital and nearly a year to
walk again , unassisted .

as I set here with a heating pad on it right now I say ...

God Bless him  Pray
I would not wish that injury on anyone  Pray

You are right about a broken femur, but how old were you and what kind of physical condition were you in, not to mention the rehab facilities & personnel? It makes a big difference.
