Video of Sam has gone viral with well over a million hits on YouTube, because Sam Gordon -- is a girl!

Little Sam says she usually plays soccer, but thought playing football would be fun after her dad showed her a video of a BYU Football player. 

Fun indeed! 35 touchdowns, 65 tackles, Awesome!

I honestly don't like full contact or tackle pee wee football for children - boy or girls - one little bit.  If I could have my way it would be against the law the same as dog fighting and cock-fighting.

I don't like it either until maybe junior high.  Football younger than junior high should be flag football for just learning how to run pass routes, throw, catch, avoid defenders, etc.

I agree with you 100% on that SC...for the reasons you gave and many others I learned from my Dad who was a pretty sucessful high school football head coach that strongly opposed pee wee football.

I played tackle football starting at 7 years old.  It taught teamwork and toughness, and I felt I was better off because of it.  But I don't think my son will be playing anytime soon.

It's all cute and all to see a little girl running around playing football, but generally girls have less strength in the knees and are more likely to be injured as they get older.  Even soccer too early can cause them problems.

I played for a YMCA league which divided kids by weight, not just age.  You could have an extra 10 lbs if you were younger, 5 lbs less if older.  So they kids were basically the same size.

That is a great way to do it.  Around here there aren't enough kids to do that.
