One of the players whose recruitment is being examined is running back Jovon Robinson, sources said. In September, Yvette Lynch, a former guidance counselor at the Memphis high school Robinson attended, was found to have changed the grades of an Auburn football recruit. She told ESPN that she altered the grades at the request of a fellow teacher.

Lynch, 62, who said she retired as a counselor at Wooddale High School in May to care for her ailing husband and mother, wouldn't specifically identify the teacher who she says instructed her to change Robinson's academic transcript.

But when Lynch was asked whether Wooddale physical education teacher Rhonda Wilkinson instructed her to change Robinson's grades, Lynch smiled and told a reporter, "No comment." Later, when Lynch was asked why she changed Robinson's grades, she said: "You already said her name. Go talk to her."

The NCAA interviewed at least one Auburn assistant football coach and several players on campus this week in a continuing investigation of the signing of former Tigers' running back Jovon Robinson, according to someone familiar with the situation.

Auburn head coach Gene Chizik says he will not comment on reports from Yahoo and Alabama Media Group that the NCAA is investigating the program.
 
Auburn has not received a formal letter of inquiry from the NCAA.

The investigation is not limited to the recruitment of Robinson, said the person familiar with the situation.

This smells like an REC conspiracy to me. I mean, has anyone actually heard from Jamos today?

The fact that this story is up on al.com means it is seriously 'out there.'  Any prospective coaching hire will want to know where this is going.  If the Barn can't tell him, then the list of Chiz replacements will get shorter.  So what does Gogue know now??

I could see this turning into a situation where Gogue keeps Chiz for another year while NCAA does their thing, but Trooper & Luper are let go.  Then in a year, this will have played out & Chiz will be gone.  Just a guess on what might happen.

Any 3-star or higher recruit who is seriously considering the Barn is either crazy or has no other decent offers.
