I've subscribed to the NYT puzzle for years. Did not re-up last month. But here is a free sign up for a good puzzle--one a week- with interesting and kinda cool clues. Across lite necessary.

NYT puzzle drives me crazy sometimes.  I remember being almost finished with a sunday one time and got stuck, and when I saw the answers it was a bunch of asterisks.   Angry

I like usa today, it's a little quirky, also free and online.


I can generally do the USA Today and LA Times puzzles as fast as I can type. The NYT (Thurs-Sun) are good. It took a while for me to catch on  that the degree of difficulty increases as the week wears on. I thought I was just real hungover on Saturdays.

Oh, I'm not that good.  I used to be able to run through the USA today pretty quickly when I was in good practice.  But I am talking a short plan trip, hour or so, not 5 minutes.   Applause E-Cred

Across lite is great. Even has a way to put two ltrs in one box should an answer require it. Also you don't have to arrow past boxes you have filled in already. It also shows all the clues, so you don't have to scroll. Matt Gaffney is a local guy, Staunton (VA), but contributes nationally.

Well morning all I am up and walking very slow. I got 4 epidurals yesterday and I can't feel my back but wooo wee my DR.s instructions and under the guidance of my wife. Ouch. RTR!

Flounder fishing is among my favorite outings.  You use jigs or live bait?  Estuary or ocean? 

I like to sit at the outfall of marsh canals on a falling tide; cast a leadhead and jig into the canal and draw it back.  They sit there and wait.

DOA lures or bull minnows. We wade out into Escambia bay between the I-10 bridge and the 3 mile bridge. Haven't done it in about a year. I'm Jonesin'.
