ok, look out.  Here comes a bunch of photos for your enjoyment.

This is the pile of privet from this morning

This area was solid privet, you can see some in the background, there is a stupid fence there.

Better picture of my pile, you can see the cleared area and more privet in the background

that's all privet

Privet by the barn.

more coming...

These photos are not privet related.

Pond

Pond, yes that's a cast iron tub I found out there.

This what I bush hogged yesterday, it was overhead with briars, privet, and baby pines.

Here's that road to the other side I made last week.  BAMAWV might remember me talking about it.

This is my pine forest, you can see where I have removed the trees.

Same.

That's all.

So mechanical, rather than hydraulic?

I did not get the HST option, on purpose.  I guess you can say it's a standard.  I have 4 gears on the floor, and then a shuttle shifter off to the side that has H-L and R, so you choose your gear and then just run the shuttle shift.  I did not read good things about HST.  HST is for lawnmowers.

Tell that to your left leg. LOL. I'm outside my area of expertise. Good job clearing--save before and after pics for sales purposes.

Hydrostatic transmissions are becoming the popular choice for compact tractors. The foot pedal(s) allows the operator to run the loader and three-point hitch with the right hand, steer with the left hand and control speed and direction with their foot. This method of operation is faster and less fatiguing than having to shift with one or both hands, clutch with the left leg and run all the other controls. This transmission is similar in operation to an automatic transmission in your car. You can change speed and drink a cup of coffee!

Thanks.  My leg will adapt.  It only wore me out when I was working the bucket on those privets, bushhogging may as well be automatic.  just ride.

I heard you're constantly having to rev the engine when you're under load.  idk but everything I read I didnt want it.  My old f-250 is manual too.  control freak.

Oddly enough, I just learned what a "Privet" was the other day.  I had to look it up after my middle child asked me about it while she was watching a Harry Potter movie.

When properly shaped and manicured, privet (ligustrum) is a quick growing hedgerow alternative. I prefer evergreens, holly and such.

All this talk of clutches, hydrostatic transmissions, etc. have me thinking two things. One, I should have taken some courses in mechanics so I would have some clue as to what the heck you are talking about. Two, I wonder if my Man Card should be revoked because I don't know what you are talking about (don't get me wrong, I still like girls and sports, but the mechanics stuff is far beyond my learnin'. Get me to talkin' about history though .....)
