Florida had 405 yards rushing against Kentucky.  Wow.  They must be doing something right in the O-line.  Jesse, Chapman, Nico?

I think Shades Valley HS could beat Kentucky. (No offense, Coach Hank)

Shades Valley beat Kentucky.  Shocked According to Max Preps national rankings that means 4,968 other high school teams could beat Kentucky too.

 Laughing And your point being.............?

We play Shades Valley this week. We picked them for homecoming.

Are you and Coach Hank gonna try to get together at the game?

I would like to but I don't think he is going to come. His son plays in the band and the band is not making the trip. It is over 100 miles for them to travel. B'ham is broke so they are not traveling to the two far away road games to try and save money.

If I had to play this minute, I think my head would split open from a backswing. Prolly gonna have to bring a little hair of the dog with me to make it through the round. Sad

I got to thinking about "hair of the dog", so I looked it up.  Really a cool etymology:

Quote
"Hair of the dog" is a colloquial expression in the English language predominantly used to refer to alcohol that is consumed with the aim of lessening the effects of a hangover. The expression originally referred to a method of treatment of a rabid dog bite by placing hair from the dog in the bite wound. The use of the phrase as a metaphor for a hangover treatment dates back to the time of William Shakespeare[citation needed]. Ebenezer Cobham Brewer writes in the Dictionary of Phrase and Fable (1898): "In Scotland it is a popular belief that a few hairs of the dog that bit you applied to the wound will prevent evil consequences."... It is possible that the phrase was used to justify an existing practice, and the idea of Latin: similia similibus curantur ("like cures like") dates back at least to the time of Hippocrates.

I managed to hurt my back today helping my buddy with his renovation.  So far it's just stiff, and I hope it loosens by morning.  Probably too much leaping around the room yesterday during the game.

Lady Friend and I are keeping an eye out for severe weather, but it's coming at 35 mph toward us.  It looks like it's about 30 minutes out.  Hitting Memphis now.  We're SE of that cell.

Hey that is what has me on a Walker and back trouble is some serious stuff. They say at VA I may never walk without one again. So be careful with that back. RTR!

You guys really need to take it easy with the backs. No spring chickens here. Chech, looks like you need to batten down the hatches.

I limped outside to get everything secure as best I could.  This line of storms is still west of us.  The images from Mephis show it passing over suburbs in northern Memphis area (Bartlett and such).  We're okay now.  The cells that threaten us now are to the SW.  They will be here within the hour (I guess).  LF is getting out the lamps and flashlights.

Our power went off this morning too, about 8AM.  A squirrel gave his life to blow the power in our neighborhood.

Was the squirrel wearing a turban?  Was he in Al-Queda?

We can only hope.  I talked with the Power Co. guy.  He said he didn't find the squirrel, but "it musta bin 'un."

Update on our situation.  The line of storms that is most threatening is still west of us; here in about an hour (conflicting TV reports).  I'm hoping these things die before then, but the TV says they'll bring heavy rain, lightning, and hail.

Right now there is rumbling north and west of us.  I never get used to this crap.   "Hello everyone."
