Shane from Centerpoint passed away this afternoon.

I guess he called Finebaum show for past 20 - 25 years or so.

Shane is Paul Finbaum's brother in law.

Paul's wife Linda, a doctor at Birmingham's St. Vincent's hospital, is Shane's sister.

Suffered with stomach cancer for past year.

Shane worked at a plant in Centerpoint, from early age and finally ran it.

An "Ice Plant" I believe.

I was working on Mercedes Benz second addition. They moved one of the 65,000 gallon fire protection water tanks from east side to west side. Had to remove lights in road and everything around plant service road.

They jacked up the 50 foot diameter tank with what looked like huge truck intertubes. Moved the tank about 2 miles and the placed it where they needed to be.

Then they did an amazing thing, I would have never thought of. The "ice plant" brought out these huge 6 foot by 6 foot blocks of ice in July. They placed the blockes of ice around the bottom of the lifted up tank and let the air pressure out of the intertube jacks, and pulled them out from under tank.

The tank set on top of all those blocks of ice and the Alabama heat melted them all the same time and the tank slowly melted it way to the concrete mounting pad meeting up prefect with the bolt holes and watermain feeds!!!

I hope to see some news about him in al.com

Yeah,  he was a homer, and always viewed objects with crimson glasses,

I am guilty of that as well!

I liked his views and opinions. Shared some funny stuff that passsed hours of windshield time driving from work to the house.

RIP!

Roll Tide, Shane from Centerpoint.

Remember you and I sparring on the PF BIL thing. 2 or 3 years ago I said something about him being PF's BIL. My buddy said, "You didn't buy that sh--, did you?" Anyway, from that point on I thought they were just kidding about that. PF roughed him up pretty good for a relative, on a nearly daily basis. But yeah, say what you want about Shane, he was a Tide fan!

One time PF said about his wife and BIL.

One went to Vandy med school to learn how to be a doctor!

Other one learned how to make ice!

Wow. Exhausted. I think I've been up now for 3 days (less the feet on desk power naps). After so long without REM sleep you start losing track of what day it is-- which meal is when. I waited all night last night for a driver to go fron Houston to Ft. Worth-- that time of night--maybe a 4.5 hour drive. That would include McDonalds and 2 piss stops. It took 7 or 8. The guy said, "I waited to leave Houston because I thought the rig wouldn't be open til 7" Office hours?. We have another "hot shot" out tonight-- a new company. I'll give them another chance in a few days,--but not until they lose a little sleep too.

Our punter has kicked a 16 yarder and now a 21 yarder.  We had kicking troubles that year too I guess.

Same here, I had late calls every night to put out fires until help arrived. Bought a new refrig, fixed broken copper line in basement.

Talked to insurance companies and looked at a few used vehicles.

No new ones to play bumper car in!

New Refrig was 1/2 inch taller than cabinets. Women told me floor was 1/2 inch too tall, then left and went shopping!

I got motorcycle jack out of garage and raised the sky up a 1/2 inch!

Never used cabinets above refrig anyway. Slammed full of 3 dead and gone (RIP!)old grandma's china and crystal, every other decade wear. I hadn't even seen any of it much less ever used any. Took all that old stuff out of cabinets!

Cabinets gave out a sigh of releif!!!( AHHHHH!!!) lifted and rescrewed like brand new.

Need to have an old dish wear sell now!

How many generations of old dishes would you like to order sir?
