My brother's daughter is having her first Christmas dinner for the family tomorrow. She received her Doctorate a year or so ago, and has now bought her first home and is ready to entertain on the "big stage". Nice neighborhood. Anyway, as some may have noticed, I refuse to go anywhere. I've already talked to the big guy about doing my job tomorrow, so I can go. That is worked out if I want.  The rest of our family is going today (Charleston). So if I don't it is just me and the dogs.  I haven't been to the store in 6 mos. Oldest daughter is cutting my hair now days. I had a meeting in southern WV (coalfields) back in May.   

It's Christmas.  Go with them. 
Do it for them.  HTH.

Good for you WV. You will enjoy it once you are there. I wish I could see my parents this Christmas.

Since you don't get out much you may need a few tips. Comb your hair or wear a hat. Wear your nicest pair of jeans. My nicest I mean newest. Don't wear plastic shoes slippers. HTH

Also, be sure to take a shower before you go.  HTH.

SC makes a good point. Showers are important when you are around other people. I also recommend deorderant.

A reminder doesn't hurt a thing. One year I bought a truckload of "Christmas Composte". It was cold and the mushroom composte was a frozen boulder, but all the good little gardners in our family got a 4" layer around their favorite spots. Point being, you don't smell quite so bad standing next to a truckload of manure. (I hope the fart/poop joke people will be thrilled)

no small or large critters were harmed in our outing
targets only , haven't hunted in 20+ years (long story)

down here , crocs are the way to go
lots of sand , lots of wet sand , so they work great
ugliest dang shoe I've ever seen but also the most comfortable

I did find out my youngest son is quite the little marksman
bought him a shotgun for Christmas , a 20ga. pump
I knew he was good with his air gun but this is his first real gun

he can take five spent 20ga. shells ... throw one up
with his right hand while holding the gun with his left hand
chamber a shell , aim and shoot the shell out of the air like a pro
he hits 5 out of 5 every time

me ? I hit two out of five and handed the gun back to him
here is the bad part ...  he threw the shells up for me :isuck:

I wonder ?
maybe it's the shoes ? he don't wear crocs 

we are going again tomorrow , maybe I'll try boots this time ?

What is that guy's name that shoots for Benelli . Tom Knapp? He shoots the shotgun shells as well. You son sounds like he has it down pat.

Hard to see by the Christmas decorations and outdoor lights but it looked like 6-8 of 'em. Maybe dragging a couple fence rails though I didn't spot any fence damaged. But as they moved away from the house it was as if the trail disappeared.

Note on the kitchen counter.  Something about trying to be a little nicer next year. Half bottle of Maker's Mark and cookies missing.  I don't think anything is missing other than that. Same number of presents under tree as when I went to bed.

Hard to see by the Christmas decorations and outdoor lights but it looked like 6-8 of 'em. Maybe dragging a couple fence rails though I didn't spot any fence damaged. But as they moved away from the house it was as if the trail disappeared.
