Morning.  I spent 5 hours yesterday splitting the remaining wood from the downed trees (from last April), and hauling it out of the woods.  One tree left, but rain's acomin'.  You?

We split a couple nice piles of seasoned red oak earlier this week. Still plenty of winter left, and feel the worst has yet to come.  Sad  Sad about what you wrote from Lake Charles, I believe, that the azaleas were already blooming but facing frost. I'd rather endure 10' of snow for a month than lose our budding.

Flowers are a loss, indeed, but the fruit trees are budding out now.  We have snow flurries predicted for tomorrow morning (albeit warming soon thereafter).

We lose our apple and peach crops to frost, two out of three springs. False springs are the rule rather than exception.

Same with my buddy in Virginia.  He loses his cherry crops about half the time.  Worst was about 3-4 years ago, when temperatures dropped to low teens in late April.

Cherries as well. But if we don't lose them to frost the birds consume them. You wait for them to ripen just one more day--and they are goners!

I have a wide variety of apple trees. Different apples with favorable characteristics for various uses. Eating apples, cooking apples, pie apples. One tree or another seems to slip through the frosts, though it is nice when all bear fruit.

You two guys cut it out.

Come on Old Timer let these guys have some fun. They are two worthy oppontents but I expect BAMAWV to bit** slap 2Stater. Let it play out and see what happens.

Gee, thanks buuuuuuddy.
See! That is what I mean. This is not your personal "Men seeking men" website. Maybe just have a big whirlwind romance with Jody from SC and be done with it. But leave poor simple CB out of your trap. TIA

I would never get between you and your snookums. Must be tough not having any friends outside of a couple of people on a forum.

I saw that. I wasn't going to draw attention to that, but I see nothing gets past your keen eyesight, OT.  Laughing
