Not if VA is similar to WV. Teacher seminars or whatever they disguise them as, are independent of snow days. These are the ones they conveniently tie to 3 day weekends to make 4 day weekends (transcendental joy).

Well then, break out the cookies.  Time for professional development.  Huh?
Perfect timing. I just found a 6 mo. (+ or -) old M&M in a desk drawer. RTR

LF had a bag of peanut M&Ms yesterday.  I ate a couple of them;  Shocked forgot how good they are!

"Good morning."

Another hunker-down day.  Storms building.
Your friends up here have that covered.

You were up particularly early today.
I have friends in Albemarle Co who teach school.  I'm sure they are excited to have "professional development days", rather than an early summer vacation.

Up early?  Indeed.  Stormy, and I've got to pack the car for a gun show.  Fortunately I have a garage.
Speaking of UVA,--well, sorta-- I have a Cuz in law that rec'd a 3.3M medical research grant there. He owes it all to the BAMAWV SCHOOL OF CHARM.

Morning all. Little cbbama had second round of "tryouts" (if you can call it that) for tee ball last night. Kind of hard to pick which kids will go on which team when most of them can barely hit it back to the pitcher's mound and actually stop (not catch) a ball maybe one in 15 times. But he enjoyed it, so just waiting to see what team he gets on.

How much time did you spend on how to "dress him up" for tryouts?  We were just recalling our first day. I bought his first pair of cleats (rubber tips) a month or so before the big day, so he could break them in well. We made a special trip to the ballfield on the day before to get the "good dirt" on them. Somehow, the woman didn't get the memo. When he woke that morning his shoes were perfectly spit shined and the strings were not merely washed, but replaced with new ones.  Not a great start for the first day with your #1 Ace Ballplayer crying.

Then I remembered a lesson I now use in the POOR OL' BAMAWV CHARM SCHOOL.  We told him that it was lucky that Momma saved us by cleaning them up. Rather than showing up with them looking like the game had just ended, they looked like the Coach will want them to look before each and every game. Lots of boys had brand new shoes,--ours displayed effort to get them looking nice.

Don't think the woman went without learning her lesson. She earned the privilege to shine my #1 Ace Ballplayer cleats every game, for a whole bunch of games over a bunch of seasons. They have to learn. But as I can best recall she, bless her heart, took several seasons to quit calling the uniforms "outfits".

You'll have to excuse me if I don't invest in the POBCS, I hate throwing good money after bad, but I have to admit you have a point about the appearance of the "outfit" (you did break her of that, I hope). 2 of my 3 daughters played softball and they had no intentions of looking like they hadn't been there before, even in their first year when they hadn't been there before.

Well, thankfully the missus has yet to call it an "outfit". We haven't donned the cleats yet, but there ain't NO WAY I am letting her clean those things when he gets through. Dirt builds character. I just hope I can get him to stop playing in the dirt or with leaves when he is in the field instead of, you know, TRYING TO GET THE BALL.

LOL -- RTR for lil cbbama99! Have you considered enrolling him in a bad azz, fully nonaccredited charm school? We can work around the tee ball schedule.
