sounds very reasonable to me Smitty , people should jump on that and be happy to get it  Cool

thanks, I think so.

Sounds more than reasonable, cheap.  Don't price it too cheap.  You need to pay for your expenses too.

I'd have you over here working if I lived closer.  I have lots of privet.  If I still owned my pacle in Fairhope, I could have really used your services to tear down a small concrete building and rip up the jungle that surrounded it.

Reminds me.  How much will you charge people to haul away debris (like the concrete and such garbage)?

Smitty, you had talked about $70 hr before. Did you do some comparison pricing in your area that made you decide on $65?

70 was my initial thought based on some reading I did where people charged 10 dollars per foot of cutter.  I had planned on getting a 7 foot cutter.

There isn't anyone to compare to.  It's either me or the bulldozer guys.

What do the bulldozer guys charge?

It's by size and they come out and do an estimate.  I read one guy had 6 or 7 acres and they quoted him 10,000 bucks and expected it to take a week.  It's a whole different operation.  They leave you with scorched earth.

I'll do some research before we talk. I want you to make some money.

Ok, I will not argue with that.  Smiley

Too low. But you have to get yourself out there somehow.

What do you think?

Oh I totally agree.  I already have the sales pitch to explain the hourly rates "to protect both of us" it works, been practicing.

IDK, but I'll bet the property owner today would've paid $150. You talked to them-- I did not. Anyway, you broke the ice. RTR

I doubt most people will have 2 hours or less of work.  I should be able to do just fine at 65 an hour.  That's 20 for me, 5 for fuel, 20 for the tractor, 10 for the implement and 10 for the insurance.

You really think it's too cheap?

I do not have experience with this, but it sounds too low a charge.  Imagine this: people hire you to clear a lot for their new house or trailer.  They expect to pay about $400-500 to clear a half acre.  How long would it take you?

That's about what I think; about half a day.  Then you have to wait for the dump truck and load it.  So it takes longer for that.  Sounds like you're ballpark.

Pretty cool doing this.  Happy for you, chasing a dream.

Just to bush hog a 1/2 acre is like 20 minutes.
