Okay, that makes sense.  Same here.

Smitty, I spent an hour last night catching up on your videos.  Thanks for posting, #.  Fun stuff.

I saw where you were burning yesterday and I cut down a big storm damaged tree in my pasture yesterday and had plans to burn today, I think we better wait as well.

glad that you enjoyed them.  I am going to play around in my sisters bar parking lot today.  It's gravel with holes, I plan to smooth it out the best I can, and make suggestions for more improvements (see if we need more rock).  People spin out their tires leaving, so I might do pretty good just spreading.

I was enjoying Smitty's tractor posts so much that I forgot to tell what I learned yesterday.

1. Recall, last week I cleaned the driveway with a power washer.
2. There were several pacles where the old, wooden spacers had rotted away, so I blasted out the soil.  I hate those pacles, because they trap soil and get filled with weeds during summer.
3. They were dry yesterday, so I decided to fill the cracks.  These were finger-width wide and 4" deep (and some seemed to allow water to run under the driveway - BAD).  So I used "Great Stuff".
*** 4. This is the good part.  You know how ugly "Great Stuff" is when it expands above the surface, right?  I know you can use the non-expandable version, but I didn't have any.  After it expanded and dried, I took my torch and burned the surface.  It is quite flammable, but quickly flashes out after melting at the surface.  Burning leveled it and left an orange-scorched surface that matched the concrete color (at least better than it was before burning).

Shocked 5. Warning for any Aub trolls: do not use this method for "Great Stuff" under your eaves.  Grin

I know you're pushing that, but I haven't yet.  Today I visit Home Depot for some crack sealant and some plants.  I don't want to seal it until I fill the cracks.  I don't think the sealant will stick if I seal it first.

Another job finished yesterday: repacled the fireplace (firepacle?) gas starter.  I did that 15 years ago.  You know what I mean?  The pipe that carries gas under the logs for a quick start; best thing I installed when we built.

The pipe gets corroded.  The first one was cheaply made and corroded in 5 years.  I repacled it with galvanized, and it last 15 years.  I bought a piece of pipe with a cap on Friday, then drilled holes and installed it yesterday.  Nice.
