Hey Leroy, I heard the best story today that might give you a leg up on licking this cancer. The story goes that a little girl in Ohio who is a big tOSU fan had some type of cancer. In order to give herself motivation to beat it, she named the cancer Michigan. She is now in full recovery.

I think you see where I am going with this. Refer to your cancer as The Barn, and I guarantee you will beat it!!

(A lighthearted attempt at humor. My prayers are still with you, my friend.)

I was sitting and thinking back when I used to look forward to getting up early in the morning and getting to the computer to see what Chechem, WV, and Smitty had going on for that day on the Daily Thread. Most of the time there was some good natured ribbing going on but there were times when some beautiful pictures were posted or some serious work related discussion was the topic of the day.

But it was entertaining to me, I never got involved with the work related discussions because it was way over my head, but it was entertaining. As time went on there were others that added more to the entertainment, 2Stater, Supercoach, pmull, etc., that joined in and there was some good stuff going on. But then one day, something happened and all of those good times disappeared. Smitty left us and then the big ado between some of the posters and all of the fun times would be no more. Coach Hank Crisp and Taz  died as well and CRS just hasn't been the same.

I would like nothing more than to wake up in the morning and hurry to my computer again, to see what the subject of the day is. Maybe some of us can rekindle the fire and enjoy some good teasing and bragging on a daily basis, we just lost two more of our members and no one knows what tomorrow brings. Roll Tide everybody!! Wink

I agree with you Jamos. I came to this site for Alabama sports but it has become much bigger than that to me. You guys became my friends. I will do my part to re-kindle the Crimson Daily Thread.

Applause E-Cred, JAMOS, you are so right but as we go on to our reward as the others before us, may someone else keep this great site moving forward. All of you guys have come to be apart of my heart also. I pray for you all everyday. I can see them now standing at the gate of Heaven with a big old sign that says "ROLL TIDE ROLL!" RTR!

Tonight my wife and I went out to celebrate my Fathers Day gift from my daughter at Longhorn Steakhouse and was I ever disappointed. We had been to this place when they first opened and it was a disaster, and we blamed it on them being new. I'm a steak lover and can usually make it through a not so good steak but tonight tested my will.

On our first vist, our table was at the swinging doors that go into the kitchen, not a good place to sit. We ordered, ribeye, salad, and loaded potato. About ten minutes later, the waitress brought some food, wrong table. The waitress never brought our drink and finally we waived down another waitress to bring us our drink. Finally our meal arrived and my wife's steak came well done so the waitress took it back to the kitchen which wasn't very far away. So while the wife waited on her steak she was preparing her potato, well, she pulled a hair about 10 inches long out of it. We couldn't find our waitress and just so happened, a manager walked by. We told her about all that was happening so she tried to help. We finally got our meal and finished eating and then the BIG manager arrived at the table apologizing and offering to give us our meal and I turned this down. We were very disappointed.

Tonight was a little different though, our table was at the entrance to the bathrooms. Again we ordered ribeye med-rare, salad, and a baked potato not loaded. On our first visit I complained to my wife that the steaks weren't cooked over a fire but seemed like they were cooked in a skillet. As we started to eat our steak, mine was med-rare, but my wife's was rare. After the first visit we did not want another scene so we didn't complain. My steak was not a ribeye, more like a sirloin, a little dry and chewy. My wife's steak was a ribeye but very mushy as most rare steaks are. Anyway we managed to finished eating as much of it that we wanted, smiled at the waitress and left for the last time there.

I don't have the heart to tell my daughter about the meal but I've got to tell her somehow that I don't want to eat there anymore if she should ever want to treat me to another meal. What a bummer.

Great stuff, Jamos and pmull. I will also do my part. Things will never be totally the same as they were in the beginning since we have lost some treasured members along the way. But I think of ALL you guys as my friends (even though many of you are A LOT older than me  ) and I want to do what I can to bring some of the magic back. All of y'all take care, hug your family members a little tighter tonight, and let's all come together as a CRS family to carry on our love for the Tide and for each other. GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!!
