What to watch for: LSU (7-2, 3-2 SEC) hasn't fared well on the road this season, dropping two of three true away games to league opponents. And neither is as good as Alabama. The Tigers aren't thumping and rolling teams like in the past, and keeping opponents close has led to both losses. And this is despite one of the best offensive trios (Zach Mettenberger, Jeremy Hill and Odell Beckham) to play in Baton Rouge in years...

We have some unexpected guests in our household for the weekend, our granddaughter, Miss State student, brought 4 of her sorority friends over to party with her friends who are Bama students. She said, "Grandpa, do you think we might find some tickets to the game for less than $100" and I just smiled and answered that you have about as much chance finding tickets at that price as you had when you tried to find a hotel/motel room. I told her this isn't Starkville, just go to the quad with your friends and have a good time. By the way, they weren't at home at 3:15 this morning but was here when we woke up at 5:30 so I imagine they'll sleep most of the day.

Oh, to be so young again.

Ok guys, like all of you with significant others, I dearly love my wife. But this was the conversation I just had with her as I am watching the barn and 10rc:

Me: This is the game I always hate. One way or another I lose because one of these teams has to win.
Wife: You could be for Auburn, since they are from Alabama.
Me(giving her a cross-eyed look): I am going to pretend I didn't hear you say that.

Folks, I know it's a football day, but keep the people in the Philippines in your prayers.  The biggest hurricane ever in the Pacific (190 mph sustained winds) hit there this week.  Hundreds are dead.  Very sad.

I feel for them. My wife and I was in Andrew when it hit Louisiana and it was only 150. I can't think of what 190/250 gusts would feel like. I think that is what the man on the weather channel said. Very scarey. RTR!

Over 1200 confirmed dead now; many villages still have not reported.
The videos of the storm were horrifying.
