Evening gents. Just arrived back in La Casa de cbbama back here in MD. Long drive, but a great time with the fam. But it is great to be able to prop my feet up on my own couch again.

Hope y'all had a great Christmas, CB. Looks like the Ravens will be home propping their feet up, too.  Sad

Morning everyone. Coffee

2013 sure went by in a hurry as time seems to fly by me at an even faster pace. 2013 hasn't been one of the better years for me because of all of the shortcomings of some of my hopes and wishes just didn't happen.

Well it's time to start making some of those infamous resolutions that so many of us do before the coming of each new year. I don't think my first resolution will change from the past year's resolution as the holidays, starting with Thanksgiving, provides too much temptation at the eating table. The food sure is good but getting rid of the extra weight isn't much fun .

Have a wonderful day. Cheesy Pray

Yep! I most certainly have to shed the extra pounds, but there's no sense in starting in the middle of the week, so I'll start next Monday.  Grin

No eating after dinner.

Late-night snacking is a problem for many people, especially when it’s done mindlessly while watching TV or browsing the Internet. When you snack after dinner, your body will be busy digesting your food while you sleep instead of burning the fat. You want your body to be burning fat while you sleep, so stop eating after dinner. This is key to losing weight more quickly.

I only use part of this weight loss program. I would guess anyone can use what works for them. I bought a treadmill right before Thanksgiving and started the fresh veggie diet. I started off with just 30 minutes a day on the treadmill and now use it from 40 to 100 minutes a day and gradually increased my speed. I ate what I wanted to on Thanksgiving and also Christmas morning and dinner and then went back on the veggie diet. I have gone from 231 to 198.I would actually like to get down to 180. The main thing to help my hunger is plenty of water, at least 100 ounces a day!

Congrats on the weight loss. I will seriously start a week from today. I would love to get your results. How long has it taken you to lose the weight?

Diet, exercise and plenty of water will get results. The key is to stick with it. I joined a gym several years ago and I am too cheap to pay the membership and not use it.

Before I my back went totally out I use to have a gym membership, and I loved it. I took Tae-kwon-do and worked out they both made me feel like a new man when I came out of the gym. My wife be the first person I called to tell her how great I felt. I went from 248 to 223 at that time in about 8 months. I did have to eat a lot because I lost a lot of weight to fast. You should lose from 1-5 lbs. a week. JMHO. RTR!

Ricky, I have had 2 back surgeries and 2 knee surgeries. I had to start out at a very slow walk on the tread mill and gradually increase my speed and time. Now I actually look forward to 30 minutes on the treadmill when I 1st wake up. I just  Pray I can continue it!

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook. I enjoyed it and thought some of you would to.

Quote
Last Thursday night around midnight, a woman from Houston , Texas was ...arrested, jailed, and charged with manslaughter for shooting a man 6 times in the back as he was running away with her purse.

The following Monday morning, the woman was called in front of the Arraignment Judge, sworn-in, and asked to explain her actions.

The woman replied, "I was standing at the corner bus stop for about 15 minutes, waiting for the bus to take me home after work. I am a waitress at a local cafe. I was there alone, so I had my right hand on my pistol in my purse hanging on my left shoulder. All of a sudden I was spun around hard to my left. As I caught my balance, I saw a man running away with my purse. I looked down at my right hand and saw that my fingers were wrapped tightly around my pistol. The next thing I remember is saying out loud, "No Way Punk! You're not stealing my pay check and tips." I raised my right hand, pointed my pistol at the man running away from me with my purse, and started squeezing the trigger of my pistol.

When asked by the arraignment judge, "Why did you shoot the man 6 times? The woman replied under oath, "Because, when I pulled the trigger the 7th time, it only went click."

The woman was acquitted of all charges. She was back at work the next day! That's Gun Control, Texas Style
