I suggest you turn your car around, and head back to Miami, 2.
Just watched the weather; big ice storm heading your way (all across the Gulf coast from ~Houston to Panama City).
GO BACK TO THE BEACH!

Morning  Coffee

This winter will be remembered and talked about by many in the years to come.  Huh?

Have a safe trip home 2.

I'm betting there are some kids in South Alabama that are quiet anxious for tomorrow to get here. Cheesy

Right you are about kids; school will be out!

It's 35 degrees here AND WINDS AT 20mph (gusts to 30).  This is NUTS!
It was 39 degrees just an hour ago.

Wow. It hasn't arrived here yet but thanks for the heads up on the wind, I'll dress a little different than I had planned.

We made it home. I hope the forecast for this area is wrong. I was with the Lauderdale County, Tn Sheriff's Dept when the worst ice storm in the history of this country hit, in 1993. I NEVER want to experience anything like that again!!!

Ahh yes... the Blizzard of '93.  That was awesome.  I would love to see that happen again.  We had a 4 foot snow drift in one spot.  There was a 4 foot chain link fence and apparently the fence slowed the snow down just enough to cause it to drop out and accumulate right there.  The snow was all the way to the top of the fence.  My kids would have a blast if something like that happened again.

We had a power outage - ice storm.  The Mayor of Oxford had no power for 18 days.  I knew numerous people without power for weeks.  People were living in campus buildings.  It was a nightmare!

Exactly! There is a huge difference between snow and freezing rain or ice. Even the most experienced drivers can't drive on ice, but the worst thing about an ice storm is the widespread power outages due to tree limbs and power lines not being able to support the weight of the ice that accumulates on them.

A significant ice storm is always a disaster.

Lol! I just watched that again the other night for the umpteenth time. It's one of those rare movies that gets better with age.

Well, the "Intellicast" alarm just went off on my phone and we are officially under a winter storm WARNING. We may just have to R-U-N-N-O-F-T.
