thank you God for getting me through it

remember the days when you could fish all day ?

Arghhhhh.  Moving slowly this morning. 
Feel like I was beaten with a club yesterday.

Morning all.

Chech, I agree with you, ugh. I fished a bass tournament yesterday and did it ever wear me out. I hadn't fished one in about two years and I must have forgotten how physically demanding it is. When the tournament began, 5:30 a.m., everyone had on their winter wear and at 6 a.m., it was very windy and raining. This lasted until mid morning and then the hot sun and blue bird skies arrived. The tournament ended at 3 p.m. and I was physically worn out. I caught a lot of fish but most of them had the dreaded, "eye and tail" disease, their eyes were too close to their tails meaning they weren't big enough. The bass were on bed and this is a perfect menu for a long day fishing with minimal results for tournament size fish, 12 inches or longer. It was a fun day though and it was just one more reminder that father time is starting to play a bigger role in my lifestyle.

yeah Ricky,  they are great on a grill , the reds that is
we slice off a side , scales still on and drop it on the grill
season to taste and enjoy ...

normally it's the upper and beyond slot fish that are used for the grill
which in Alabama is 26 inches and above
we try our best not to fish for the big ones , the breeders that is .

awhile back we released 10,000 reds that were purchased from
a fish ranch in Texas , not that we needed them , just to put back .

our main goal is to make sure there are fish for my kids , their
kids and so forth down the line , working pretty well so far
