Morning gents. I am staying in today after a brief health scare this morning. Woke up with chest pains around 1 a.m. that wouldn't go away, so I went to the emergency room where I stayed until 5:30. It turned out to be nothing, but it was a scare for a while. Needless to say, I am exhausted. I think I will be camping out on the couch here pretty soon.

CB, you need to get a doctor to find out what caused the pain and get it fixed. I went through something similar many years ago. The first doctor though it was stress. I was newly married, about two years, just moved from Alabama to Nebraska, wife pregnant with first child, bought my first house and started a new job. That guess was wrong. The pain would only come at night when I was sleeping. It ended up being acid re-flux which is easily treatable. Worrying about what was causing my chest pains was almost enough to give me a heart attack.  

Do yourself and your family a favor and get yourself checked out. Good luck. I will be praying for you my friend.

Good morning, Chech, J, X, and pmull. CB, that sounds like good advice. I see where they are selling Nexium over the counter now. Wouldn't hurt to get a follow-up check up.

Morning gents. Yep, I took it very easy yesterday, and my doctor recommended going to see a cardiologist just to make sure everything was copacetic. I got a good night's sleep last night and I am feeling better this morning. It really seems to be gas, but I am going to follow through with the cardiologist recommendation to give me peace of mind if nothing else. Thanks for your prayers and recommendations. And X, I guarantee that mrs. cbbama is not letting one of those three things happen.

after several test that included a nuclear stress test and an
upper GI they found my night time problem like yours cb ...

the upper GI found a  hiatal hernia was the cause ,
like pmull said , acid re-flux ... a real bad case of it
which was easily treated with medicine or minor surgery 

tip for the day ...
if they order the upper GI for you

after the test drink water like it's going out of style
or be prepared to install a new toilet in your bathroom
 

on a bright note !
I hear nowadays the cup of cement they make you drink is
flavored ...
instead of the old sheetrock mud flavor it used to be

I've decided to take Mrs. X to eat a steak this evening
drop her off at the house then fish tonight until I run out of energy

so , what that really means is .... by 10pm I'll be in bed

oh cb , I forgot the best part of the test ...

when I went in to see the doc after the test results were in
the doc went over everything and prescribed my re-flux medicine
which included a shot ...
(my MD is also the wife of my cardiologist which makes things handy)
so she gives me the shot and says , "this shot will help you" 
"it will last for about a week"
I was thinking , sure lady , I'll bet 

the next day we were leaving for a week at the Gulf
but I noticed I felt great , no aches and pains , my energy was
through the roof and remember thinking "I feel 18 years old again"

we get to the Gulf and I'm running on the beach with the kids on
my shoulders , riding bikes , swimming , riding a tube behind the boat ,
fishing all night and a couple of other things I won't mention ...

then the end of the week comes and so does reality
the shot was wearing off , I was becoming mortal again .

so I call the doc and make an appointment to see her
I go in and she asks "whats up" ?
"doc that shot you gave me , what was it ?"

she is explaining it to me in medical terms and I stop her
"that's all fine and dandy , but , can I have another one"?
she firmly declines my request and informs me "it was a one time charlie"
I inform her what a bummer that is and leave ...

best vacation I ever had though

Morning gents. Happy Father's Day to all you guys today. We have an extremely difficult job nowadays, men. So many in society want to limit, or even deny, our role in the lives of children; in addition, our children face SO MUCH pressure from different sources today. It is more important than even to have men who love their wives, children, and, most importantly (I AM GOING TO SAY THIS, AND I DON'T CARE IF IT MAKES ANYONE UPSET) love God above anything else. I salute all of you fathers here at CRS today.
