SC, I did shoot an 89 before, but on an easier course. The course I played today has greens the speed of Augusta National. Shot an 86. Even if no e-creds, I feel pretty good.

Front cover of Field and Stream.

# Agree.
+10 #s if he hydroseeds the banks.

Kudzu is easier. The way you plant it is to throw it down and run like the devil. Only kidding of course. Kudzu was actually brought here from the Far East to stop erosion. we found out too late that the stuff doesn't have deep roots and eventually suffocates trees.

Thanks guys.  Kudzu was brought here from japan by the railroad to use as erosion control, but it has no natural enemies here and the japanese beetle that lives off it there cant survive here.  So there, score another one for the railroad.

Hey smitty, I've been a little hazy on where you little piece of heaven is located. East of the Ham?

She's just watching.

That drainage really looks good, Smitty.
I went back into my woods this afternoon to see what my neighbor had done.  Recall he was clear cutting when I confronted him last Saturday.  I heard him working back there again yesterday.  It looks like a bomb went off on his property (8 acres; only a few trees left).  There is just scorched earth and piles of dogwoods, cedars, hickories, and pines.  I can't figure out what he's trying to accomplish (other than destroy the woods).  It would have been beautiful had it been thinned, but now it's bare earth awaiting tomorrow's rain (erosion to follow).

Gotcha. I always liked it on that side of the state, especially a little further north in the Scottsboro - Fort Payne area.

thanks, I've brought up the grade over there about a foot.  If it helps I planted a hearty palm and some funny named giant fir type tree today.  I only chop down pines and privets.  I wish I had more hardwoods.

Where did you play?

Scenic Hills in P'cola. Pretty tough course. Chech, I can't putt even if my ankles are free. I seemed to chip really well today and had about 5 holes where I didn't even have to putt. Inside the leather ya know. I think that was the difference. I'm playing in a tourney there Saturday, so this was a good warmup.

You chip with a 9 or wedge usually?  Usually on fast greens I use a wedge.

The cat comment was just me laughing at trying to practice in the yard with Cat circling me and begging for dinner (constantly).
