some funny named giant fir type tree
?

You bought it or dug it?

I bought it.  I can go look at the name on the tag if you must know.

No need.  Probably a juniper.

No, it was half the price of the juniper but looks just like it.  Good guess though.

giant arborvitae

I know these.  It's a type of cedar.  Grow huge (if you live long enough).  Beautiful.  You got enough sunlight for that?

SC, I did shoot an 89 before, but on an easier course. The course I played today has greens the speed of Augusta National. Shot an 86. Even if no e-creds, I feel pretty good.

Where did you play?

Scenic Hills in P'cola. Pretty tough course. Chech, I can't putt even if my ankles are free. I seemed to chip really well today and had about 5 holes where I didn't even have to putt. Inside the leather ya know. I think that was the difference. I'm playing in a tourney there Saturday, so this was a good warmup.

You chip with a 9 or wedge usually?  Usually on fast greens I use a wedge.

The cat comment was just me laughing at trying to practice in the yard with Cat circling me and begging for dinner (constantly).

Depends on the lie and length. If I don't have a lot of ground to cover, I use a P'wedge. If I have some green to work with, I'll use a 7 iron like a putter.

Planted one, about a 6' foot weeping cherry, about 20 years ago. Now it's maybe half as big as your photo.

Love those.  They make great focal points in a large yard, especially if there's a dark background.

A Weeping Cherry? I think I'll abstain from commenting on that.  Tongue

Yep, me too.  I'm just more comfy with the p'wedge around greens.  I'm more likely to flop it close than roll it up there with a 9.  My big hands are a threat to hammer it right past if I use a 7 or 9.
