I just got a text from 2 and his house was hit by the storm a little bit ago. They were in the bathtub when it hit and everyone is okay but power lines and trees are down everywhere. He has a tree on his car and couldn't tell if he has any roof damage or not. He said it was the scaredest he has ever been.

OMG, just glad they're okay.  If his house was hit there must have been LOTS of damage in the rest of Pensacola!!  WOW.

In looking at the size of the storm, I would guess it is very widespread with lots of damage.

2's text just now said "the roar was deafening".  Said they "can't even get out of their neighborhood now", not that they'd want to.  Hopefully their roof is okay.  He said he couldn't tell yet.

Pensacola News Update:

Injuries at the Grand Baroque Town Homes in Pensacola.  Lots of trees down there.  Rescues underway.

That's right next to 2's street!!  Looks bad.

The Moorings Apartments were hit.  6 people injured there and much damage.
That's 3 blocks from 2's house.
Not sure if it's the same place as the Grand Baroque area.

Here's the tornado track in Pensacola with 2's street indicated.  Bad news!
Just glad they're okay.  Lots of people not okay.

We lost our power just after I posted last night so I wasn't able to read your posts Chech. Thanks for the good information on the tracking of the storm. I haven't received anymore texts from 2 it might be his phone battery is drained.

Good morning, Jamos.  I didn't hear anything else either, but I'm sure he's using his phone to contact family and friends elsewhere.  Sounds like it was awful there.  The tornado went right through the middle of Pensacola.

It's 38 degrees here now.  We're expecting light snow this morning, but it's only misty rain now.  

I'll post anything else I hear.  Hope everyone else is okay.

Good morning from a powered up 2Stater home! Woo Hoo!!! Power came on about 10:30 last night. I was asleep and didn't even realize it until about midnight. Mrs 2 was up and did the happy dance while I slept. Still no internet service but that will be remedied this afternoon. Will be spending the day cleaning up debris from the back yard. The clean up crews took care of my front yard. I will be sending out kudos letters to ECUA, Gulf a Power, and the Escambia County SD for their gallant efforts.

It's a good day to be alive!

Good morning.  Sunshine should return today, and it will be most welcome.  Yesterday was rainy, cold, and dreary.  Then it'll warm into the 60s by Saturday!!


Our thoughts and prayers are still with 2's family and neighbors.  Sounds like they're getting lots of help restoring power and cleaning away debris.  Can golf be far away?? 

Tennessee took a torpedo again yesterday when Butch Jones was named in a deposition related to the Title-9 suit.  It's gotten uglier than a fat fan in UT orange.

Good indeed, 2.  Glad to hear power is back.  You're getting air conditioning just in time (warming trend coming).  Eager to see more pics!
