Well I hope your trip is pleasant and I can assure having been there several times as I use to have kinfolk living there, it is a beautiful area. My grandma's sister and her family lived there and I went out there with my Uncle to what use to be called "Field Trials" with bird dogs. My uncle owned a national champion at one time. It was cool here this morning but I hope all is well with everybody.
On the gardening, I was always taught you only planted cabbage and onions in late FEB. or early March and then nothing else till "Good Friday." The weather freezes later in the year now it is hard to plant at that schedule anymore because you can have frost in April. Have a great day be safe and give the Lord praise. RTR!

Good morning from stormy Pensacola. Coffee

Wind is up today, so fishing is out. I'm back on the road.

We had a steak and pompano feast last night.  Thanks to 2 and Mrs 2.  You guys missed a fun time!

We did indeed, have a great time. Thursday was like fishing the Sahara Desert, but we still had a good time catching up on things. Yesterday was a much better day. Chech caught a very big pompano (that went well with our steaks last night)  Tongue .

I caught a huge redfish which was too big to keep. I also caught a great big stingray. Chech had to cut him loose and suffered a war wound as a result. We also caught a bunch of pompano too small to keep.

I'll post the pics I have in a few. Chech is on the road, but will post his later. As he said, wish you guys could have been here. Lots of fun!

Chech with our dinner. Apologies for the slightly blurry picture. Apparently, I was too excited about fish actually being out there, that I couldn't hold the camera still.

Me and the big ole redfish.

Dinner time!  Tongue

Sorry we didn't get a pic of the huge stingray, but Chech does have a pic he'll post of his war wound dealing with said stingray. It was a bizarre and fluke injury. I'll let him explain what happened.

I am glad to see yall are having great fishing going on. When you see a smile that big you know that the landing the fish was fun.
Also, today would yall keep a friend of ours in church in your prayers, her dad got burned up in a house fire early this morning. I can not imagine what a feeling that has to be.
So now how is spring training faring? I bet we got some young players that is getting their minds right and get down with the system. Yall have a great day. RTR!

Obviously, Chech is the better photographer.

Yeah, the weather wasn't ideal, but we still had a great time!

That's one big redfish.  I've never had popano, looks delicious, we had steak and crab cakes for dinner last night.

J, if you go to Ave Maria Grotto, those marbles used to make the miniatures belonged to my mom.  They grew up Irish poor in Mobile; my mom's brother gave her a few marbles and she took pride in winning all the boys' marbles.  Later, when her brother (my uncle) was a monk there, they used her victory marbles to construct the miniatures.

I've only planted cabbage (which is ready for eating), spinach and red potatoes so far.  Yes, wait till after Good Friday to plant anything else.  I got ambitious one year and planted some tomatoes too soon a few years ago.  They came back after the freeze, but didn't do as well as the tomatoes I planted a few weeks later.

Dottie is going to plant some things in pots this year because I can't plow the garden anymore. We want to try growing something of a garden again. She is going to wait till Good Friday also. I hope everybody has a great day today. RTR!
