Alabama's softball team finally looked like champions today.  Best they've looked in any game I've seen this year.  Bama beat A&M 2-1 in 10 innings.

WOOT!  

And Ole Miss just knocked off #1 Florida 2-0.  First time they've beaten UF in 9 tries, and only the 2nd time UF was shut out ALL YEAR!

 

So, it's Bama vs Ole Miss in the next round.   

Good job Ole Miss. 

Now we need to beat them to get to the finals.

Apparently Chaac changed his mind; severity of the storms diminished overnight, and now we simply have RAIN.  It'd been dry, so it's all good.  Some flooding to the west of us, but no nasty winds.

Truly a fine softball game played by Alabama yesterday.  Bama was dominant, pitching a no hitter until a homer by A&M tied the score 1-1 in the 7th.  Osorio was in control, and looked like herself again.  A&M added another hit in the 10th (final inning), but they generally were inept against Osorio.  Big win.

Bama plays Ole Miss today at 2PM CT.  Don't miss it!  ESPNU.

Good morning folks.  We are supposed to get some of Chech's rain today but the rest of the weekend should be really nice.  I took a day off from work yesterday to get some stuff accomplished.  It felt nice being out side all day by myself too.  We went to our youngest boy's last baseball game of the season last night.  They lost, again.  Haven't won a game all season but they are having fun and at 8/9 years old I think that is what it should be about.  End of season tourney to be played Monday and Tuesday.  My middle son is supposed to have a gig tonight in Huntsville.  Concerts on the Dock is a concert series during the warmer months where they bring amateur singers/bands in and play on the loading dock at Lowe Mill (cotton mill from years ago).  Anyways, Runt supposed to lip-sync a couple of Elvis songs for the crowd if the rain doesn't get the show cancelled.  Runt, at just 12 years old has developed a true love for Elvis music and has decided, at least for now, that he wants to grow up and be an Elvis impersonator.  He already has an Elvis costume and wig.  For his sake I hope the show goes on...He will be really disappointed if it gets rained out...

I hope he doesn't get rained out either.

Chech, I'm glad Chaac sent you the non-severe stuff. We will be getting ours later today.

Auburn, in their typical lucky horseshoe fashion, hit a 2 run HR in the bottom of the 6th to beat Kentucky 2-0. They get LSU who rallied past UT 6-2. It's an all West Division semi-final. We need to win the whole thing and at least get a regional.

We got hammered by a line of thunderstorms this afternoon. Nothing severe, but heavy rain and lightning. More rain coming in now.

We had another heavy storm come through about an hour ago. Heavy rain and lightning. Looks like it's all over now. I just hope the base golf course isn't cart path only.
