Good article. I've spent a lot of time in Enterprise, so I knew the history behind this. I did not know, however, how the boll weevil was eradicated. Interesting.

Good morning.  Coffee

My friends visiting from Grand Junction, CO and I went out to eat last night in a town near Basalt.  It was a bbq pacle; not my choice.  I'd heard that "Colorado bbq isn't up the South standards".  On the contrary, it was delicious.  Even their slaw and beans were tasty and uniquely prepared.  Yum.

Back to the river today for one of the last days here.  The water level was raised on Friday night (increased flow from the reservoir), so fishing wasn't as good as it had been.  Still, we caught a bunch of fish.  But they weren't "rising" as trout do when feeding, so we didn't have that excitement of seeing the fish feed.  Hopefully today they return to normal.

LSU and A&M are out of the softball series.   Sad
Florida is carrying the SEC flag.

Several SEC schools are still in the baseball playoffs.  Good stuff.

Have a good one today, wherever you are and whatever you do.  You should be fishing!

How about golfing? That is in my plan today. Will be a long time before I can play again, so I better make the most of it today. I just hope the weather cooperates. Been a rainy mess here for several days now.

Got a family reunion next Saturday that I'm looking forward to. After that, not so much.

Yes, golf.  Excellent way to spend a beautiful day.
Remember, 2, stay on the cartpaths and no parking on the greens!

Tell that to my golf partner who is always getting caught by the marshal, parking right next to the greens.

Good morning folks.  I got caught up with my mowing yesterday even though I was forced to go purchase a new set of blades for the Toro.  $56 for a set of three... Angry  I still have to mow some weeds in the back yard so that we can take Mrs. Nalt's house plants outside for the summer though.  I am hoping to go back over to Dad's house to finish removing the part of a huge pecan tree that fell during a storm last Saturday  night.  The tree split into three sections during it's growth and one of the sections fell onto the overhead trellis that Mom had put up so her plants could grow up and overhead to create some shade.  Part of that was damaged but I haven't seen if the house has any damage to the roof or not yet.  I'll have to drag the trunk and lower section of the tree out to the road with my tractor.  That shouldn't take long though.  It will probably be more time and trouble just driving over there.  Enjoy the golfball 2 and I hope the fish are hungry today Chech.

Sorry to hear about your parents' tree trouble, NALT. Hopefully, there is no damage to the house.
