Good morning folks.  Still raining here too but we aren't getting the real hard rain like Chech seems to be getting.  We went to an outdoor concert last evening but it was cancelled before it even got started.

Preacher, I am sure happy that Ms. Dottie is doing well.  Hopefully she will continue to improve.  2, how does it feel to be the smartest person in the room?  Good luck Chech with keeping the varmints away from your tomato plants and I hope your neighbors don't get their houses flooded...

My buddy downhill said they were okay - not flooded.  Water was into their yard, but not their house.  BUT he said he's calling the county folks again; he'll show them pics of the flooding.

Thanks for the support re squirrels and hornworms.  Our defenses are holding for now.

Light rain still here too. I got my walk in, though.

Yes, yesterday was National Stupid Day. I need an apartment until the lease runs out on my renters, at the end of the year. I found a place that looked good and according to their ad, the price range was affordable. So, I go to the place and this cute, young girl was glad to help me. I told her I wanted a furnished, short term lease apt. She said she could help me and quoted me a price. I said great. So, off we go to look at the model apt. We get there and she's forgotten the key.

No biggie. I wait for her to return. She shows me the apt and it's perfect. I told her I'd take it. Then she remembers a couple of items she had forgotten about, that made the price a little higher. Still within my price range, but I'm getting a little aggravated by now.

We get back to the office and she tells me they can package the deal with all utilities included, that of course would drive the price up more. It was reasonable so I said ok.

I fill out the application and she shows me a quote that is $250 more than what she quoted. I questioned her as to why it was so much more than she quoted. She said, "I inadvertently quoted you on a one bedroom".

I said "BYE!".

I got an e-mail when I got back to the office with an apology and her agreement to lower the price. I guess I'll be seeing Miss Ditsy again later today.

That was just one example, but I don't have time to go into the other 3.

August 7 will forever be known as National Stupid Day, as far as I'm concerned.

Thank you all for great support. Mrs Dottie went through all rehab exercises this morning had some pain. She has only taken 1 pain pill today. She is resting well right now, and getting ready for lunch and her afternoon rehab exercises. Looks as if the drainage stops she might go home Thursday morning. DR Jones met us in the hall this morning and her walking by herself on the walker and he was elated. Everybody have a Blessed day and stay safe in this rain. Man it still falling here in B'ham on HWY 280. RTR!

Well Chech, I've taken the apartment at Miss Ditsy's. I may live to regret it. I called the power company to connect the power for Monday when I move in. The CS rep said, "Are you sure that's the apt Number? We connected that one last week." I called Miss Ditsy and, you guessed it, she transposed the numbers. What have I gotten myself into?
