BTW, buy a net.  You'll want one when you visit the farm pond anyhow.  You can probably net your own fish there.

You'll also want one for your own pond.

*** Important: get one with fine mesh (twice the mesh size of window screen or smaller); about 0.5 - 1.0 mm.

There should be some of these in my pond.  Remember I have a real pond in the back.

Oh yeah, forgot.  You'll see the Gambusia if they're there.  They'll be at the top, near the edges.  That pond is pretty shaded, so probably no meadow beauty around it, but there should be other wildflowers.

That is thin sheet metal around the sides.  We are considering painting it green or something... lol.  Another option is removing it.  thoughts?

I was about to ask why it's still there.  Lose it.  It's ugly.  You could put seating around it and gaze at the frogs without it; alt: low rock wall, variable height, around it as pacles to sit.

Last thought.  If it goes stagnant (less flow than you expect) during summer, you might as well just level it.  You won't know until heat of summer if that'll happen.  Seems to me it will.  So, you may not want to spend much energy on it until you know for sure.

Time for work.  Later...

The concern there would be the integrity of the concrete around it.  Remember, this is just something to do temporarily.

Bunch more rain heading your way chech.  I guess it's all staying way north of us.

Got a call about putting in a price for 3 months of geology work in Huntsville.

500 a day should cover it.

You could turn that into something really nice if you wanted to spend some time and/or a little money.  Maybe line it with stacked stone.  It's work but you should be able to do it yourself.  If you can find the stones somewhere in a local stream you could get off pretty cheap too.  Get rid of the diving board and put in a little waterfall on that end.  The pumps aren't that expensive and the waterfall will help keep the water from stagnating and put air into the water to help the fish, not to mention all of the aesthetic value of the trickling water for the humans.

Just some random thoughts.

Didn't see this when I posted or the one about the stagnant water.  Great minds think alike.  Cheesy
