They are saying most of North Alabama is without power. Due to where the tornadoes have been sighted, I'm sure that means Huntsville, Decatur, Cullman, Hartselle, etc.

Yeah, that's what I figured. I just hope any of the people I used to work with that might still be there are OK.

well cb99 here is a video that I believe is of that area , to tell the truth I can't tell anymore
it is so torn up it is not recognizable  ...

I want to thank Jesus for sparing my family member in T-Town
we finally got in touch after quite awhile
my BIL was on the phone with my niece when it hit and her phone went dead
she called because the sirens were going off and wanted to know if we knew anything about it
in the middle of the call the phone dropped
we found out she was in the basement like Terrie said her friends were and safe , Thanks God !

here is the video cbs42 (do full screen)

Hay.  Just catching up on the news.  HORRIBLE pics of Tuscaloosa.  It was bad right here, but nothing like that.  I haven't watched the video yet; memory is tied up with uploading pics.  I see that Smitty (Pell City) has a tornado warning right now.

The co-worker that I mentioned earlier (lives about quarter mile N of me) lost 50 trees in HIS YARD.  He has a 2-acre lot.  But his house survived.  I took pics of the houses just west of him; every house in the neighborhood (of big houses) was damaged - mostly lost roofs and partial roofs.  That's what got my trees last night.

This is the highway just a quarter mile N of my house.  We are in good shape compared to the people there.  There were 40 telephone poles down.  We stayed in the car, so pics are limited, but you can see why I was so freaked last night.

This is the neighborhood just N of my house.  Almost every tree in the neighborhood was down, and many houses lost roofs. Nothing like Tuscaloosa, but nasty.

This is my neighbor to the N.  His property backs up to mine (atop the hill behind him).  His house is just 6 months old.  The house lost shingles (only), but he lost many of his trees in the front.  You can tell that we had 5" of rain in 6 hours.

This is my deck.  Rain gauge was full at 6AM, then it filled to 4.5" again this morning.  Notice the big Scarlet Oak in the background.  It's hung up in another oak.  Maybe it'll stay alive there for a while.

Only reason we have power is ours is underground to the houses from the poles.  The road in the pic where the poles are down is near us, but apparently our power comes from the other circuits.
