ssmithhhh replied to my PM. He is OK but in shock.

Smitty is on his way to T-town to help with the cleanup. He asked me to put the word out to you guys that anyone who needs his service with tractor, chainsaw etc. to let him know. If you do, PM me and I'll correspond with Smitty and we'll send help your way.

He doesn't have to drive so far to help. Fultondale and Pleasant Grove are heavily damaged, especially Pleasant Grove.

Power came back on here north of Pell City.  Most surprisingly the internet is working (clearly).

2 informed me that everyone seems to be ok from here.  It got very very hairy here.  Right after my "famous last words" post of "it's just loud windy rain".  I was really hoping that wasnt my last post.

I think it was straight line that came through here in the AM.  Not sure, but we had major damage about 1/4 south, and they got destroyed up north of here.

Anyway, here we are.

Smitty, I could use your skills here.  I know it's too far, joking, but I discovered this morning that I've got trees down all over the back of my property.  I counted 12 big oaks and hickories.  My property elevates to the N, and the top of the hill was leveled.  I have a house on 5 acres, and that area of 100m from my house.  I'll probably just leave them until winter.  Man, it's a sad mess.  I have trails all through the woods, and now they're blocked big time.  But, just a quarter mile away people lost houses.
