We just lost power here.  Still no rain though.

Anyone heard from SC since this?  Pretty sure he lives up in NE Alabama.

I've only been on sporadically, but I think his last post was that it was raining and the power went out. Glad you're back on.

It's been over 24 hours now.

True dat. I hope we hear something soon.
Pray

Prayers from here too.

Smitty, I could use your skills here.  I know it's too far, joking, but I discovered this morning that I've got trees down all over the back of my property.  I counted 12 big oaks and hickories.  My property elevates to the N, and the top of the hill was leveled.  I have a house on 5 acres, and that area of 100m from my house.  I'll probably just leave them until winter.  Man, it's a sad mess.  I have trails all through the woods, and now they're blocked big time.  But, just a quarter mile away people lost houses.

Wow that's close.  Maybe you could make something out of them?

I think what got us in the morning might have been straight line, but I dont know.  1/4 south something came through and took everything, but the trees were pushed over, not broken at the top.   3 or 4 miles north a swath about 50 yards wide of all huge pines broken off about 10 feet off the ground.

The girl will not stay here unless I build a subsurface shelter.  She's not from here and had never even heard of anything like that, I tried to explain it never happens and I get "well it just did".

Yep, those "know-it-all pronouncements" always bite you.  Just glad you guys are okay.  Lots of sad around these 2 states tonight.

I'll make something out of them: firewood.  I use it, and I have a buddy who will help who burns a wood stove all winter.  He'll help me split it.  He's the guy who I helped with the deck.  He can sell the extra.

I've splitting wood is kind of fun with a good hydraulic splitter.

You should make at least 1 totem pole.

I should add, oddly, we had very little damage.  One piece of the roof on the barn bent up and will need to be fixed and we were pummeled by my retarded butthole neighbors "save the world" pile of cans, which I picked up and walked past two garbage cans to throw in his yard, they are still laying there.

The drainage worked out well, only one spot that needs to come up a little bit.

Eying the pool for the storm shelter, or also digging into the wall some more.

Digging inexpensive storm cellars may be a "hot item" for SLS, Inc.

We'll start lobbying the legislature to make them required for ALL mobile homes.

They will have to be taxpayer funded unless you can figure out a way to make them look like a brand new car with spinners.

(This is pretty out there, so I am going to offer an explanation.  Around here, you see corvettes, brand new trucks, harley's, etc, sitting out in front of the nastiest single wide trailer you can imagine, with a hot tub in the yard.  There seems to be financial priority issues in the trailer parks)
