Morning all. Hope you guys had a better day than I did yesterday. All the golf money I won last week was lost yesterday. I shot a 94 that included a 10 on the easiest hole on the course. I played at Marcus Point. Chech, you ever play there? Smitty, do you like fast greens or slow greens? When you come down, we'll play at Marcus if you like slow. If you prefer fast, we'll play at Scenic Hills.

Popcorn and a glass of wine.
You guys ever been to London?  All of this London, KY and Canada is worrying me.  Clearly we need a toad trip.

Morning, 2.  No, never played Marcus Point.  And thanks for the toad fix.   Applause E-Cred

Have a good one. I'm off to subject myself to more humiliation at Scenic Hills today.

He's been doing cleanup, Preacher, including volunteer work in Tuscaloosa.
Good morning to you.  Hope today's rain passes you by this time.

Good news on the trees (it's about time for some relief).

My neighbor to the north (who clearcut almost the entire 4 acres he had, right up to the property line), lost a dozen big oaks.  They were the sister trees of the 13 down on my property.  My woods are manicured with walking trails, but his property is a giant scar, and now eroding by the minute.

Anyhow, neighbor was approached by a logger yesterday, and the logger is hauling out his trees at no cost (logger wants the wood).  These are all big oaks, great saw logs.  Neighbor told me that they could access my woods from his property and pull out my downed trees at no cost.  He said he would stay with the loggers to ensure they did as little damage as possible.  What could I say, of course I agreed.  I have 11 downed oaks along that ridge against his property.  It's an ugly view from his new house (6 months old), all downed tree tops.  I couldn't cut and haul them out (100 yards to my driveway) in 10 years.  So they start today moving them.  Wish my woods luck.

That leaves the 2 big oaks next to the house.  The leaning tower of Scarlet Oak is the toughest problem.  It may have to await football season before I can get it down.  Climbers will have to lower a limb at a time (I hope).

I've spent the morning at a buddy's house tearing bathroom walls out of his new little house.  We're gutting it for his step-daughter.  Cool little house; former RR depot of Abbeville, MS.  It was moved a half mile from the RR, and a new depot was build, during the 1930s.

That's the news.  Having fun too?

IDK how wide your paths are, but rubber tired skidders shouldn't cause much damage.

Yep, I saw it.  It's high and narrow.  Best I could hope for.

BTW,  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Tornado Warning north of us just now.  Alarms going off.  Looks like it's Memphis and northern-most MS counties.  Hope those people are safe.  Prayers.

Hey BAMAWV I had a bunch to cut my trees just out of my yard, and the skidders left tracks deep and tore my yard up. RTR!

Yeah. I was about to say to Chech, it may be better to wait until things dry out real well.

Yeah. I was about to say to Chech, it may be better to wait until things dry out real well.

No problem.  It's a sandy ridge top.  The soil is so sandy that it's dry already.  I just walked it with him.  His trees have already been dragged out (no problem, except the soil is so soft that it rips it up where he turns).  Oh well.

Memphis Channel going nuts with tornado.
