Changed the negative lead to a tractor battery this morning. Busted knuckles, a grease spot on my shirt, and 4 or 5 rounded nuts/bolts. I haz the sux at turning a wrench. Embarrassed

Yikes.  I've never had that tough a time with a battery lead.  Must have been in a tough spot to get at.  Soak those knuckles in warm, salty water.  I have an island in mind.

Hey Chechem you have worked on farm tractors too? RTR!

Flashlight in mouth, correct socket on work bench. I usually just resort to channels locks for everything.

Ok, here is what I did today.

First, yesterday I had moved the carport into the "yard" to work on the wall behind it.

This morning I spread some gravel and moved it back.  The anchors that were in pacle were stupid.  They were just a peice of metal welded onto repar and driven into the ground.  I decided I would do a little better.  I wanted to put legitimate anchors down and bolt to it.  But in the interest of home depot sucking, I invented my own.  They will work just fine.

Here is the carport in pacle, I am in this photo digging a hole for the anchor.

Here is the anchor.  It's a 3' piece of chain, there is one on each corner, the concrete is a little more than a foot thick.

So that wasnt enough fun, so I started on the fence.

Notice the one in the rock wall.  That one and the next one down were very tough digging.  I needed WV's post hole digger.  Basically just banged my way through rock until I was satisfied they wouldnt fall over.  The one in the wall only goes down 14", the next one is 19" (all the rest are 2')

Proof the line is straight.  (Yes I know the one in the wall is off, but it had to go where I could put it.  It will look fine.

You hanging a gate? How much between posts, on center? Are posts quik-creted? Checked for plum both ways?
How long a level? Posts buried 26+ inches? Treated 4x4s? Whew, this is nerve wracking when you just haul off doing things willy-nilly.

General I have to tell you that I truly admire you for doing all this work on your own. That is quite an undertaking. How long do you reckon it will take for you to finish all you want to do?

Thanks, forever.  There is literally a never ending amount.  As soon as I finish the backyard then it's the front yard.  Then back to the back where I have another ditch to run, unlimited grading, still a wooded area I own that I cant get to, tons of little pines I want down, the whole thing needs refenced, I have a low area I dont know what to do about, the barn needs work, and much much more, so yeah, forever.
