meh, they just dont want people taking away their 10 minute job.  That issue is easily solved with a little manhandling.

Does your door have 2 springs or just the one?

Two.  Worst part is waiting.  The only company anywhere near here is in Tupelo.  They apparently have a backlog of business with the tornadoes (which sucked a bunch of doors off their garages).

Screw it, I just cant remember, how exactly I did it, but I know it was way easier than expected and I was very proud of my 22 year old punk a** who didnt know how to do much at all back then.

I think you could do it, but it's probably only the minimum to have a handy man swing by and do it for you.

And there's the small detail that I don't have a repaclement spring (lightbulb).  I don't mind paying a guy for the work; just wish he'd at least tell me which day he can come.

I don't know Grainger, but I'm sure I could order them on the web if they're not available within driving distance.
Regardless, I'll wait.

You back on the tractor today?

Or you gonna sit and watch the idiots in Congress debate whether to release photos of a dead UBL?

Time to get going, feed the birds, stare at the broken spring, downed trees, etc.

Later...

pretty wet out there, probably work on the fence.

Grainger is everywhere.  There is one near you.

Well, I just looked and didnt see one in the catalog.  I give up on this one.  I hope your dude shows up soon.

If I were a garage door guy, I would mix in a few spring repaclements in between the door repaclements just for the break.

For future knowledge, grainger is an industrial supply chain that sells hard to find crap over priced.  You dont want to buy something there unless that's the only pacle you can find it or you're on a gov contract.

Branch: 472
1901 Nonconnah Blvd.
Memphis, TN 38132-2106
Phone: (901) 396-9740
Fax: (901) 396-1617

If they dont have what you're looking for, mcmaster-carr has it, but they only have two shops, one in Atlanta and one in L.A., but they literally have ANYTHING you may need.

Is that true?  I've never heard of anyone dying of either.

They hide stuff like that from you in books. No really, it is kept down low, because no one would buy houses w/garages or make margauritas.
