Good morning, Loony friends.  RAIN here and ice in Oxford.  I saw photos from Memphis, where ice was heavy and brought down numerous trees.  Barely an issue in Oxford compared to that; just overpasses covered and a bit on trees and shrubs.  It snowed briefly last night just before midnight.

Slow news about football, except the (already mentioned) Golding DUI arrest, signing of a TE recruit, pissing contest between Saban and Jimbo, and proposed new bb arena: Click here for link

Guess I'm dating myself to recall when Coleman Coliseum was new, eh?  Met with Coach Bryant in his office there several times, and watched a variety of events in the arena: LSU/Maravich lose to Bama, James Taylor, Elton John, Joe Cocker, and a small circus with an elephant that vomited on the floor.

Good Friday morning, all.   Chilly here with the windchill around 20.

Chech, I do not remember when Coleman Coliseum was new, but as a kid, I did happen to be at the game when the name was changed from Memorial to Coleman.

I saw many games there, and that was when Bama's team was all white. I remember one of our players throwing the length of the court and when it went through the net, Kentucky's famous coach Adolph Rupp jumped up and marked the throwing spot with his heel.

Well it has been an enormous amount of rain. I have a friend who went to Little Rock, Ark. and he is blocked in don't know when they will get to leave because of the weather. RTR!

For you youngsters like Chech and Doc,  When I was in school there the basketball team played in Foster Auditorium.  The site where Coleman sits was the band practice field.  My wife and I lived in the married students housing at Bakersfield Barracks where the Law school now sits.  We could watch and hear the band practicing next week's halftime show from our apt. Lots of changes on campus in the last 60 years.

Are you sure this was not in Foster Auditorium?  There is a bronze X implanted in the floor under the north end goal where something similar happened.

Lee, I was there from 1999-2004, and I barely recognize the place when I go back.

I meant Foster, referring to your saying it was there when you were. I also visited my friend at Bakersfield Barracks; I was living close by on Cedar Knoll.
