I actually have some good memories of the terrible Braves of the 70's & 80's. I don't remember the exact year, but it was in the 70's when, near the end of a terrible season, there were probably less than 200 fans in Fulton County Stadium. Milo Hamilton, the Braves announcer at the time, made the comment that there was a full house for the game and the fans were disguised as empty seats. Ownership was not amused and Milo was gone the next year.

It was so fun when they started winning. They played great D those first years, pitching included.

And bases loaded in the 9th for the Nats is not great pitching.

Ugh.  Hit... tie game.  No outs.

Yeah, I was a kid in Montgomery when the Braves moved from Milwaukee to Atl. That was a great team with greats like Felipe Alou, Joe Torre, Woody Woodward, Eddie Matthews, Hank Aaron, Rico Carty Pat Jarvis, Tony Cloninger and all the others. They were great fun to listen to on the radio.

Hold 'em Braves.

So many of the great players in MLB were from Mobile back then.  And then there was Satchel Paige, etc.

Applause E-Cred Awesome find. You're right, many from Mobile. I had no idea that Bruce Benedict was from B'ham.
