Howdy campers. Well, it is official. At 2:30 p.m. today I completed all my course work for my MA in history at the University of South Alabama. Barring some major problem, I will graduate Saturday. Now I just need a job to go with this degree, and I am set.

We could use a tractor operator in Pell City while Smitty's doin' demolition at Redstone.

I think the last thing Pell City needs right now is me driving a tractor. If you think damaging a shed like smitty did is bad, wait to you see what happens with me behind the wheel.

What was your least favorite question at the defense?

Well, I have to admit that I chickened out on going the thesis route. We had the option to take two comprehensive exams in lieu of a thesis. I took one and passed it back in October and took the second one today. I wanted to write a thesis, but the need for me to finish as soon as I could and try to find work would not have allowed me to write a thesis that I would have considered to be acceptable.

Check out teaching online courses.  I've heard of people doing pretty well at that.  You get paid by the class I think.

What's the curved thing on the left for?

Hoof pick (clean the hooves).  This was a common pattern carried during the days of horse power.

Good looking knife

The handles are Red Stag (European Red Deer).

Sounds like it was high end back then?

Right.  The cheap ones had wooden handles.  This one might have been owned by a veterinarian or wealthy person.  This is also a well-known company, Wade and Butcher (kind of the Orvis of its time).

Ok.  I am going to totally guess and pacle it's value at approximately $800.

You're getting pretty good at this.  I got it for $600; a bargain I thought.   Applause E-Cred

Your pup will be lonely.

CB, I have a friend who is a high school calculus teacher that also teaches on-line for the U of Phoenix. I don't know how much he makes, but it might be a good starting point for you.

I actually have a shot at a job here, although I won't go into it too much just in case things don't work. At the pacle I am working part-time, the guy over me is in line to get another job, and if he gets it, I have the edge in getting his position.  Pray

Best of luck with her interview.

Sorry, I was on the phone with a buddy in VA.  No news on the NCAA.
