Don't sell ETB short, look how quickly he picks up on etiquette. (BTW, my favorite ETB episode).

The weird thing is that as an undergrad I was a communications major, and ended up working in the newspaper biz for 8 years. I loved history (always have) but I did not want to teach, so I thought I should find something that I could make a living doing. My wife encouraged me three years ago to follow my heart and do what I loved and not necessarily work for the money. That's why I decided to get my history degree, and I am trying now to find work in the public sector (archives, museums, government positions, historic sites, etc.)

How about the Smithsonian? The barner gridironers are owed a trip to DC. You know they will prolly go there. Think of the fun you could have.

Free advice is usually worth about that much. But treat your job search as a job in itself. Don't be afraid to ask others working in your field for advice, regardless of whether or not they are hiring, or even in a position to hire. Make appointments to see guys that are where you want to be 25 years from now. Ask them what their path was, and how they would go about what you are trying to acheive. These guys are always willing to talk about themselves. Explain that you respect their abilities/accomplishments, and wish to take a few minutes of their time to perhaps draw from their experience.

Good advice, WV. I will definitely take you up on these ideas.
